I'll look through the menu's to see how its changed (yes I know I'm weird) and then play an exhibition for Yankees vs Red Sox to try out the analog controls and see the changes at Fenway. Then I'll play the Challenge of the Week if its already up.

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
I don't really care what controls people decide to use, but it baffles me how close minded some people are. Before the game is even released that are saying there is no way they are using analog controls. Why not try them out? You may be suprised at how well they work and by not trying them you may miss out on a great experience. If you try it out and don't like it then you can use the old controls. Its like people who say they don't like certain foods, but have never actually tried it.Comment

If they don't like the sticks and won't even try it oh well. I don't have a problem with that. But that is not what this thread is about. Once I get the game, I will most likely start a season.

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
Im a franchise guy but I've been intrigued with the features of RTTS so I'm going to try that first & of coarse the analog controls if the demo doesnt have it."In a year that has been so improbable, the impossible has happened." - Vin Scully

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
I always play Exhibition games for a few weeks. I'll play a few with my Braves but not to many, i really wait till Franchise to start getting deep with playing with them. But mainly I try to pay with all teams and just get a feel for all the teams, players and ballparks.
Oh and of course "try" to get accommodated with the new controls to figure out wether to stick with them or mix it up some with button mashing..Last edited by BravesBoy; 02-12-2011, 04:46 PM.PSN: OverPar8Comment

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
Man, so hard to narrow it down, so many things to do.
1) Take a quick look through the rosters
2) Probably watch tutorials and hit up the practice modes to try and get used to the analog controls
3) Play one exhibition as the Yankees, probably on All-Star, mess around with cameras for hitting and pitching
4) Get started on the Yankees minor leaguers for Knight's rosterComment

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
to REALLY ignore all of the guaranteed threads some will post talking about their 2013 Franchise....
SMH & LMAO
Decided to post this here as well...
What are your plans for The Show's Opening Day?
- Exhibition games?
- Testing out the new Analog controls?
- Firing up a Franchise or RTTS?
- Online/Co-op?
So, let's hear it!
For me, I'll be jumping into Co-op & Challenge Of The Week - it'll help pass the time while Knight & Co. work their magic on the roster set.For 2017...

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
So many things to choose...
(In order)
- Apologize to my girlfriend and give her a kiss
- Batting practice with new controls
- Exhibition games where I only play pitch & play defense to learn new controls
- Start a season for gameplay testing
- Create a RTTS power-hitter to get a feel for the new grading system (I'll wait for OS Roster Project before starting my official RTTS)
- Get online with my buddy or someone on here to see how online plays
I'm really enjoying the wait this year. It's allowing me time to absorb all the information posted, while tempering my expectations. I realize this game will never be "perfect" but the developers of the Show keep making positive strides each year to make it the most complete representation of MLB there is.Comment

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
Gotta play the actual game first, right?! I skipped MLB 10, so I'm interested in seeing, hearing, and feeling all the changes from 09 to 11. Exhibition, Reds v. someone. I love day game lighting, so I'll go with that first. Like most, looking forward to seeing how the analog pitching works. I'll try a bit of analog batting but I feel that I'll go with the classic button approach in that area. I'll try out analog fielding as well.
Then set up my music.
Finally, starts a Reds franchise (probably after a week or so). I'll be running a Twins franchise as my AL team this year, but that one will wait on the best rosters out there, whether that be Knight's or someone else's.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: Opening Day (The Show)
Immediately start a Franchise (yes, I plan on doing an ACTUAL Franchise this year Brett), and use a few of the preseason games to get acquainted with the new control scheme. Then it's full steam ahead.
I swear this will be the year I play an entire 162 games!
SpoilerOk probably not, but I'm sure as hell going to try!
Oh, I'll also probably only visit the "Little Things" thread once the game drops, as I don't want people like *ahem* Debbie Downer *ahem* ruining my fun.Last edited by DickDalewood; 02-12-2011, 11:23 PM.Comment

What I usually do every year is replay the last game of the World Series. Kind of a "last time on Major League Baseball" type of thing... being a Giants fan, it should be fun! I'll probably try out the new controls at the same time.
After that it'll be a mix of all other modes, in the different stadiums, except Franchise (reserved for OSFM.)
