    Re: Walks in 11

Whether or not the original poster is lying, if anyone thinks this could be a serious flaw in future, somebody can do a simple experiment (though time-consuming) of playing human vs human game, keep walking the same batter till he walks 256 times. Then for sure we will discover this "data type" issue exists or not.

I can understand the dev's choice though; only Bonds ever came anything close to walking 256 times in a season, so why use two byte (I know nothing about PS3 coding, but typically storage size increments by a byte, so the next sensible data type would hold a value between 0 - 65535, which is obviously overkill) for walks which take twice more storage space?

Not only that, but you might as well consider it for other cell numbers as well. Why only make an array of 512 for walks? Let's do it for RBI's as well.

Eventually these numbers add up, and in a way yield diminishing returns.

I haven't seen this issue in this game for myself, but there is absolutely no reason for the OP to not only lie about it, but to be able to make up such an accurate issue that is widespread in programming.

While we are talking walks, this seems to be the one are of the game that seems to be a bit off for me statistically. That and runs scored, which I think could be tied to my lack of walks. All the other stats were almost spot on with the mlb ones.
Glad I'm not alone, and I agree. Most of my statistics were on the mark except walks and runs. In fact, if you think about it, how many runs are you sacrificing a year because of impatience? You're sacrificing like 3 or 4 baserunners (I assume 3-4 BB's is close to average?), and then you have to factor in the situations that they draw those walks in.

Here's to being more patient! More specifically, more patient on a 3-ball count!
