    Re: MLB 10 Memories Thread

Since my PS3 died not long into 2010, I don't have any good MLB 10 memories, so my awesome memory comes from 09. I think I posted it last year too.

In my RTTS with myself as the starting pitcher, on my first ever MLB start for the Jays against the Twins, I had a no-hitter running into the sixth inning. I was so psyched. The Rogers Centre crowd was roaring me on (or at least it felt like it). Predictably, the no-hit bid ended on the very next AB immediately after Matt V. mentioned it! I then let a home-run go by and had a generally terrible inning. My bullpen bailed me out but couldn't hold the lead I had maintained so I got a no-decision.

I had so much confidence going into my next start - against the Red Sox - at Fenway. Ellsbury, Ortiz and Youkilis destroyed me. Dave Campbell figured I could not handle Fenway as such a young pitcher. I think he was right.

My worst memory was working Ortiz to a 3-2 count (Ellsbury had stolen second already after I tried to pick him off several times). I must have left it hanging, because he crushed it to RF. I cursed Fenway's low RF wall for probably hours.

This is why RTTS is so great. There is not a feeling of "every game counts" or even "every at bat counts". Its a feeling of "every pitch counts". Then, you play soooo long, so many games and seasons, and get a chance to play in the playoffs, its amazing. Then, to get a key at bat in a key situation, and deliver. Wow, thats great!

My favorite memory was hitting 3 HRs in RTTS my 2nd year in a AAA game. Probably because I never had a great big league career or been to the playoffs. (For some reason, Toronto or Arizona always drafts me or trades for me.)

Opening day......Angel Pagan with a 2-out, 2 run double to beat the Marlins 5-4. Was jumping around like a kid.

A 14 K performance by Jonathan Niese against the Astros for a 7-1 complete game (can't remember the game day)....Niese was stellar for me going 14-4. If the bullpen didn't cough up so many of his games he could have been Cy Young.

David Wright 3 HR game against the Nats at Citi Field.

Other than that, it was an awful year for my Mets

Well, a lot of memories... but I pick only 3 of them

          1st :
I've just got the game. First ever game, I tried the Twins @ Target field vs the Yankees.
After a 1-2-3 inning by Scott Baker, Denard Span came in the box to face CC.
First pitch is a fastball and is smacked for a homerun.
          Came in JJ Hardy.
First pitch is a fastball and is smacked for a homerun.
Back to back homerun to begin the Show
So my two first pitches of the Show 10 went over the fence!

          2nd :
          Online league.
I played with the ChiSox and my opponent with the Cards.
I throw a CG no-hitter with John Danks

          3rd :
The one who made me yelled.
In my D'backs franchise. NLDS vs the Cubs.
Lost the first game 0-1 and in pace to lose the 2nd 0-1.
Bottom 9th, Gerrardo Parra hit a line drive in left center field.
The CF dives and misses the ball.
Parra tied the game with a inside the park homerun.
I later won that game (in 12th inning) with a walk off double (G. Parra of course)
Then I won this serie 3-1, then swept the Reds and won the WS 4-1 vs Boston. (Each game was a 1 run decision)
Parra was my MVP of he postseason and the WS, hitting .341 and driving in 15 runs. (not that bad for a lead-off hitter )

When I pitched a Perfect Game with Mark Buehrle against my brother-in-law. He was so furious, especially because he was playing as his beloved Cubs.

This just happened... I'm finally in the playoffs with my Yankees, its the ALCS. Im playing Boston, and first 3 games... i lose. I'm so ticked that after all the hard work of playing a full season... I'm gonna lose against Boston?! Well anyways, game 4, i win 4-2, game 5 i win 3-2 ( super exciting game) and I'm currentely playing game 6.... and just starting the 10th inning. No matter what happens when I go back to play, this is my mlb 10 moment. I'm down 11-7 going into the bottom of the 9th, and I havent scored since the 4th. Can't get anything going, and first pitch of the inning, Robby Cano takes Daniel Bard deep. 11-8... Still not to much going for me. Next at bat, is Albert Pujols( traded Texeira, Mega prospect Jesus Montero, and Andrew Brackman for him do to the recent rumors of him leaving St. Louis) and Pujols takes Bard deep, so now they bring in Papelbon. A-rod hits an 0-2 base hit into centerfield, and that brings the tying run to the plate. 2-2 count, and Curtis Granderson hits an opo-field homerun!!!! The game is now tied up at 11 in the top of the tenth.... Most amazing moment of the show for me by far! AND A-ROD JUST HIT A WALKOFF HOMERUN IN THE BOTTOM OF THE TENTH WITH TWO OUT....to good to be true, and I still have CC to pitch game 7!!!

                  Just happened tonight.

                  Opening Day.

                  Mets at Dodgers.

Bottom of the 13th. 0-0. 2 outs. Pitcher up to bat. I bunt. He's safe by a mile on the most beautiful bunt I've ever seen.

Matt Kemp. First Pitch. Triple to Right. The pitcher runs around the bases slides to the right, ump holds up, SAFE! BALL GAME.

Jay Bruce in the bottom of the 11 sticks it to the Cubs by launching a walk off HR. 2 teams that I get sick to my stomach when i lose 2 are the Cards and Cubs so this was 1 of my most fondest memories recently that i can remember. My wife being a Cubs fan made it even better because I got to rub it in her face because she roots against me when I am playing against the Cubs in my franchise.

                      Got a few....

                      Online League:
Bottom of the 10th, down by 1, I hit back to back jacks with Thome and Kubel to win the game.

                      RTTS:
                      1. My first big league HR was a pretty awesome feeling. 2nd game up with Detroit, hit it against Phil Hughes.

                      2. After spending most of 4 season with the Tigers, who were horrible, I finally hit free agency and signed with the Reds. Finally made the playoffs and we ended up going to the World Series against the Red Sox. In game 4 I went 3-5 with 2 HR and 6 RBI, including my 3 run walk off bomb that landed on the boat in deep CF. Ended up winning World Series MVP.
                      Go Sox!!!
                      Playing/Looking Forward To:

                      - NHL 11
                      - Killzone 3

                        Two memories:

                        1. First game out of the box, I got no-hit and struck out 21 times by Yovani Gallardo. IDK what I was doing, or lack there of this game.

                        2. Marlon Byrd walk-off homer in like the 18th inning.

A game in my franchise as my dodgers I go against the mets at citi field I had kershaw who was not pitching good vs niese who was also struggling. So it look like a whole lot of runs would be score so the mets get a eay lead in the 2nd inning after an rbi single and I batle back to tie the game in the 4TH and go ahead in the 5th..kershaw was on his game so I left him to pitch the 7 and he alloed a double to begin the inning I bring in..a reliver and he gets to quick outs and I had an o-2 count on bay and he trows two wild pitches and now the game is tied up so we keep on playing so 3 up 3 doon for lad 3 up 3 down for the mets so no one got a hit from the 8th inning till the 19th were I manage to get a liltle rally goin on oliver perez to score 2 runs (who had shut me down for 5 innings). So I had my worst reliver left and the mets open up with 3 singles to load the bases up ..with the 3-4-5 hitter up..on a 3-1 count wright pops up ..then bay hits a bullet right back to the pitcher but makes the catch ...and on a 3-2 count I trow a pick off to first and rail the runner to end the game! After 19 long innings 3 hours the game was finally over.. On a pickoff..
