Re: What position will you be in RTTS?

Beginning in '08, I've pretty much always been a middle infielder, but covering second and never tagging out a base stealer was annoying, so in '10 I went with a LF (I'm the best player in the majors at the moment ). I liked the fielding training sessions, but like in all years past, I get to the point in RTTS where I turn off all fielding and baserunning opportunities and just focus on hitting. My blog here covers the first few seasons of my RTTS player from MLB 10.

I've also made a couple of SPs, so I might do that again this year. Really can't wait until March 8th!

If they added a new camera option for Catcher... then I'll catch.

If not, I'll either do CP or 1B.

With the new progression for the RTTS, i'm wanting to do CF. I wanted to develope myself into a 20-20 player with a solid glove (Kinda like my fav player, Franklin Gutierrez). Also will try Closer, It's the best i've ever gotten in RTTS.

The Blue Jays need a young center-fielder to replace Vernon Wells.

I made a 3B in 10 with IF as my secondary position so every now and then, I'd find myself playing 2B or 1B, which broke up the monotony a bit.

Like a poster above, I turned all fielding and baserunning off after awhile to get further in my career. With a few exceptions. I played every Season and Home openers fully, except set to Result Play. This way, I saw every at-bat (which really immersed me in the games. My big league debut, I was actually NERVOUS lol) but it took me straight to the last pitch of every at-bat which sped up the games.

I was going to do the same for all my Playoff games but being on the Astros, I never got that chance 5 years in :P

Re: What position will you be in RTTS?

I think I'm going to go with 3B in this years game. I've played SS in the last two games. While it's been pretty fun, I just find it annoying having to cover 2B on steal attempts, which is why I'm thinking of moving over to 3B. Hopefully I can get all the way through my career. Furthest I've made it so far in a game is MLB 10, I'm in 2020 right now (still only 28-29 years old), but absolutely raking right now. I won the 2018 NL MVP with the Reds. Got a huge contract with Boston going into 2020, and leading in all triple crown categories at the All-Star break (also won the HR derby). But yeah, going to go with 3B in 11, probably going to go with being a power hitter, maybe an all around player. Can't wait to check out this new progression system.

Re: What position will you be in RTTS?

I usually play as self-named player in the middle infielder positions but I'm going to change that this year. I'm going to create a real life Braves pitching prospect and play with him in the Braves organization (probably Teheran). And I will also make oen of the Auburn players drafted last year and start a RTTS with him, probably OF Trent Mummey in the Orioles organization. They had another player, 1B Hunter Morris, but he got drafted by the Brewers and I'm not sure if I want to do a RTTS where my 1B competition is Prince Fielder lol. Although he would start his career in my hometown with the Huntsville Stars.

Ima have 2, a SS and a P, not sure whether starter or closer yet. Leaning towards starter. Gonna be a tough year, managing 2 rtts and a franchise but im looking forward to it.

For 10', I made a hitter for the first time., But if they fixed the velocity issues, I will probably go back to pitching.

Re: What position will you be in RTTS?

I have done a pitcher in both the last 2 years and I was thinking of switching it up but I have never finished either career. I think if I do I will make myself a little older so my career won't be quite as long. I was thinking about possibly doing an outfielder but I have a feeling it will take even longer per game than a pitcher. For you guys who have done both what usually takes longer per season, time wise? A starting pitcher or an outfielder?

As I did with '10, I will be making a RF and SP. I might branch out, if I get bored, and make a middle infielder.

I usually always have a pitching one and a fielding one. In MLB 10 my main game was as a closer but I got stuck in limbo - the Indians used me once a week in mop up duty and so I never was able to meet my goals because they wouldn't pitch me enough. So I might go with starter this year.

As for fielder, I'll probably make a CF who can also play the corner spots.

My real life position, center field, if they make it actually fun to play the outfield this year. Otherwise probably a shortstop and only take at bats until I make it to the mlb.

Also I might try catcher if they give an option to not call every game you play.
