Re: MLB 11 The Show Trailer: Camera Editor (Something Every Sports Video Game Needs)
What do we mean by depth of field though? I think it gets confused sometimes. People take 2 distinct meanings from "depth of field":
1. Background blur, to simulate focus. The depth of field control in the Show's replay system incorporates this, but it's just a toggle.
2. The relative sense of "closeness" of objects along the z-axis within the picture. This is what I would love to be able to control. For instance, go into the game and switch back and forth between catcher and offset cam. It seems like the pitcher is closer to home plate in the catcher cam, because he's bigger on screen. I like to use the offset cam, but I'd like it even more if it felt like the pitcher was closer to the batter. With the offset cam in '10, it feels to me like the pitcher is 100 feet from home plate. The whole field feels bigger than it should (at least to me).

I hope this applies to RTTS pitching as well!
I hate pitching from the pitcher's view!
Also, any chance it applies to RTTS Catcher as well? Hated staring at the back of the catcher the entire game!http://flotn.blogspot.com

Re: MLB 11 The Show Trailer: Camera Editor (Something Every Sports Video Game Needs)
I read through all posts and was surprised with no mention of this, am I the only one that noticed the disappearing backstop is in the game again this year? You'll see it in the camera and pitching tutorials. I have to preface this by saying this is by far my favorite game and this year might be the most additions that SCEA has added since the beginning, but for someone that really enjoys using the broadcast camera or behind the pitcher for hitting and pitching it's a little annoying to see the backstop screen disappear quite a few times per game. In a game full of great things this is only one of a few small issues, it's just that it's been in the game for a number of years now, I would have thought that it would have been fixed by now. Just a small gripe, but I will live with it. LaterComment

I am sure if it was something easy to fix they would have. I never notice it because I am too busy trying to get the batter out instead of focusing on the back stop being there are not.Comment
