Ya that first video wasn't the greatest example of was I was looking for and I agree that long story's like that would get old fast. The other 2 video clips describe much better was I was talking about in regards to how quick Lyons comments on the play outcomes and how it blends in so naturally with the broadcast

I have yet to hear a stellar commentary system that is unmatched in sports gaming. MLB2K10 and the FIFA series are excellent but even they became repetitive.
Back to game at hand....props for posters pointing out size of OF now in the game. Just noticed that it does seem vast out in Yankee Stadium.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Video: Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees Gameplay (Cam)
We had someone who dealt with atmosphere/sound in the room with us and went through a whole game taking notes on how the crowd should react in certain situations. So I do not know if we will see any of it in 11 or its a project for 12 but they should have quite a few notes on this, I mean a lot of notes.
so i take it the sound guys aren't baseball fans?
just joshing.
In any event, good news to hear the sound will finally hopefully get an upgrade.
Now, it 10, I do hear some nice crowd swelling during big spots.Last edited by econoodle; 02-20-2011, 03:43 PM.Comment

Even in a non-playoff game, in the top of the first inning???
I'm sure it'll get louder as the innings progress, dude. In real life, even if it's Yanks v. Sox, the crowd is kinda quiet in the very beginning, as they're just settling into their seats......except, of course, in a playoff game.Comment

I'd LOVE some confirmation on this Nem - if it was put in the final build or not. Chris, Kolbe, Russ??Currently playing on PS5 & XBOX SERIES X:
- EA Sports College Football 25 - PS5
- MLB The Show 24 - PS5

Re: MLB 11 The Show Video: Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees Gameplay (Cam)
I use the behind the pitcher cam when pitching (this year it will be team broadcast or whatever its called (sounds amazing)) and I hope all the batters have had their stances centered. last year almost all the stances were uncentered which led to players with closed stances standing outside the batters box and stances to just be wrong all together. If you moved the stances just a little you would see the intended stance which for the most part would have made a huge difference.
Sorry, I'm a stance junkie and thats my worries for this years release.Comment

K_GUN, I'm not sure if you remember this video of MLB 2K7, but it displays some under-the-hood components that we normally shouldn't see, one of them being intensity:
I'm sure that SCEA has some calculations running in the background which brings out an actual "intensity" number, and then they have a few if-else statements to say how loud the crowd should be based on the intensity level. Such factors would include the count, number of outs, inning, who's up to bat, what teams are playing each other, what time of the year, etc. So maybe it's not the crowd noise itself that needs to be risen because they do tend to have pretty loud moments at times, but their "intensity" formula might have to be adjusted to cue that something like this in a Boston-New York game has an increased rivalry factor going for them.
as for crowd....it's not *raising* the volume that bothers me..it's *WHEN* its raised.....i played another game today...yanks/sox...in yankee stadium...1-0 yanks...top 6th....sox get 2 on with 1 out.......yanks turn 2, inning over...crowd barely reacted.....Bummed that you're not on my ignore list yet?.....Don't worry, I'm sure you will be very soon.Comment

Is it just me or the crowd reacts to the pitches at the same time it lands in the catchers mitt. How do they know if its a strike or ball, Isnt it suppose to be the umpires calls that will stir the crowd good or bad.Yankees!!

Awesome video !!players look great and the stadiums have everything in the right place. I love how they have each stadium real camera views, scoreboards, and jumbo- trons. But they GOTTA fix this commentary !! Matt v and dave have been saying the same stuff since day one.. They sound dead and like there not even into the game.. Karros is a great addition at least shows that they've tried to improve the commmetry.. But he sounds like he's not even in the same broadcast booth. Overall I rate this game a 9.5! .5 off bcuz of the commetry.
