Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
that's actually where i looked first, it didn't specify the right or left it just said push the analog left or right...thanks for the reply tho. another question tho, if its just the right stick then why does the PCI move where i move the left stick too, because i've been moving the left stick and the PCI goes where i move it?Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
I am not entirely sure his advice is accurate, actually. I thought I had read from either Ramone or one of the CD guys (in response to someone complaining that you could just cancel every throw that was going to be offline) that you could just choose to not view the meter in order to solve that problem of knowing what throws will be offline.
Why don't you just load up the demo and do some testing to try it out? I'd be interested to find otu the response too actually ...Comment

I think you want to use the "No Feedback" option for the meter if I am understanding you correctly. If you want to have your input used for power/accuracy, then you need the meter on, but with "No Feedback", you will not get any visual cues."Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"Comment

That's how I interpreted his comments... I'll be doing to the same once I'm comfortable with the new controls.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
I played the demo again last night... Again using "Timed Hitting"... I just like that the best... anyway If I push up on the right stick, my batter showed "bunt". I'm assuming it's the demo, and the "swing influence" for timed hittting will be fixed in the full version?Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
I was actually hoping that with no meter it would take user input for accuracy and strength based on player ratings. I just thought that might be the case because it only mentions strength in the menu when you change it. I'm just not a big fan of how the meter loads up for power but I will probably try to go with the no feedback option and hope to see some more errors this year.Seattle Pilots GM (2011 - ) Record: 152 - 195

I see, you would like an option that allows user input for accuracy, but NOT throw strength. Unfortunately, there is no option that allows for this type of split. I'll make a note.I was actually hoping that with no meter it would take user input for accuracy and strength based on player ratings. If you're hoping to see more errors, definitely go with the "Legend" fielding difficulty too."Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"Comment

This year you also have to change Bunting to "classic" if you want to use the buttons (triangle for bunt). For swing influence (even on Timing), hold R2 and push the R-stick up or down.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
Can someone give me a link to a video, or provide a detailed explanation, of how the throwing meter works? I'm literally clueless right now after a week of playing the Demo. It all feels like a dice roll to me whether or not I'll be in the green or red with the meter.Currently Playing:

Very much. Thanks, Qb!
I bumped up the difficulty to All-Star this morning and couldn't make an accurate throw to save my life. Now that I've seen the video, I have a better idea of how the meter works, and that I really need to pay attention to how I press the R-stick in terms of direction. I'm pretty sure that was causing my throws to be off-target.Currently Playing:

I think many didn't understand the system based on the early impressions. You want to push the stick directly up/down/left/right no matter how/where your fielder is positioned. Also, I think people may tilt the controller in the hands. I've caught myself doing that at times...

Square up to the tv using all of the analog features. My biggest mistakes have come while leaning my physical body to field ground balls, and jumping out of my shoes at meatballs...
What can I say...I REALLY get into this game!Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show Demo Q&A, discussion thread
I am new to this forum and just started playing the show with the 2010 version. I have been addicted to this site for the past 3 weeks excited about 2011 coming out. Anyways I haven't been through all 63 pages yet but was wondering if the delay between when a fielder catches a ground ball to being allowed to throw it by the computer has been improved from 2010?Comment
