Re: Video Tutorial for Pure Analog Hitting?
Are you 100% sure that the time zone to pull back on the right analog stick is right before he releases the pitch.
Also every pitcher has a different windup/stride, do you have to take that into account or just worry about the release point?FTP=PTFComment

100% positive. Russell has stated several times to pull back right before, or at, the pitchers release point.Comment

Re: Video Tutorial for Pure Analog Hitting?
Thanks!! I know so many people have been complaining about the analog hitting, but even though I am having trouble it has been because I havnt known when to begin my pullback. When I played ball all the way through college every pitcher was different, varying on their delivery and speed that u need to start your load up to recognize the pitch.

Yah, I know what you meant... what's funny, is I couldn't hit a lick in years past (had to play on Veteran), but with this new scheme, I'm bumping up to All-Star with ease. That's why I'm glad they leave all their options in though... a little something for everyone!

That doesn't look very good though, because the stride is interrupted by the swing. It's especially noticeable with a player like Posey.
It will make it easier, but to be honest I don't really like it.Comment

Re: Video Tutorial for Pure Analog Hitting?
Yes!! Russell stressed on how he loved all of us struggling and for any video game designer they want people to complain to a certain extent because that means they have created a good game. A good game to me is something I pick up with new features that takes TIME to master and I love that kind of challenge. Whatever level you play on doesn't mean you are better or worse.

Time to suck up the pride and go back to hitting all-star till game release... I dont know why people say the fielding controls r hard because I first was horrible at it because I would press in the direction of the base (If i was in left field 2nd base would be pushing towards the REAL 1st base direction of the analog stick)
hope that makes sense but I think that is where most people r having trouble..FTP=PTFComment

Re: Video Tutorial for Pure Analog Hitting?
I dont like ti either, I think they should of implemented something like the analog pitching where their is a meter to start your stride and the closer you hit it the better of swing u have..
then again, the REALISM would be taken away since a meter would be in place..FTP=PTFComment

Re: Video Tutorial for Pure Analog Hitting?
Going to try and get those tutorials for Fielding and Hitting out today. They where to launch before the demo. But we thought everyone would rather have the demo out sooner rather than on the 1st or 2nd lesson learned. Hindsight is always 20/20.Comment

I found out just as in real life you should pre-load your swing just as the pitcher is lifting up his leg and getting ready to rock and fire. I hit 2 homers the first time I played the demo and have continued to hit pretty steadily since then. March 8th can't come soon enough... To bad I'm a Mariner fan

Very close, you actually pre-load right when he is about to release the pitch. You can always pick up albert pujols in the offseasonI found out just as in real life you should pre-load your swing just as the pitcher is lifting up his leg and getting ready to rock and fire. Re: Video Tutorial for Pure Analog Hitting?
This works for me too.Guys I couldn't hit for the life of me either. I have found something that works great for me. You don't need to pull the stick back all the way.
When pitcher is coming forward with his front foot pull the stick back SLOWLY. You only need to go back less than halfway. Now when you push up to swing you don't have as far to go. This works out perfectly for me. By pulling back slowly It makes me wait for the pitch better. I used to have a hard time with changeups and now I'm ready to crush them. You won't be late on fastballs either doing it this way.
Give it a try. Before the pitcher starts his windup practice how far you go back with the stick. It really is not necessary to go all the way back.
Hope this helps someone. I now can get hits and homeruns. My biggest problem is still moving the stick to the proper side however but least now I make solid contact and timing is normal or superb most often.Mariners Seahawks Sonics UW Sounders
