Heck yes he does, which only adds to his value. He work behind the plate still needs some work. Too many passed balls and what not. But he makes up for it by getting on base, and running them smart.

Im always amused when he jumps way off 1st, sees a ball bounce in the dirt, and takes off to 2nd safely ALL THE TIME. And a lot of the times, the catcher blocks it, they arent even passed balls. True awareness and skill there. His catching will improve this year im sure.

Yeah, I find that really confusing too. Considering they outright DFA'd Galarraga.

I don't know why they want Coke to start, he was one of their better relievers last season.

Maybe the Tigers are hoping for a C.J. Wilson transformation.

I saw the Mattingly wants to bat Blake 2nd - terrible idea. I wasn't putting you on blast, just mentioning that I didn't like the real-life lineup. I might even hit Either 2nd, but Kemp is a beast. Can't wait to pitch with the staff too.

Yeah, Lilly kinda reminds me of what Wolfe brought to the table. Wouldn't mind still having him. Plus, he was a pretty good hitter. We only need Broxton to lose some weight and try something besides a fastball once in a while. Reminds me of Niedenfuer. Broxton had a bad year and still he comes to spring training looking like a pig. Annoys me for some reason, like he doesn't care to get better.

                    Diamondbacks

A lot of stuff is still up in the air, such as 1B, bench spots, 4th and 5th spot in the rotation, batting order, and bullpen roles beyond the closer. So I'll base this on spring training lineups and performances.

                    Lineup

                    1. Kelly Johnson 2B/Stephen Drew SS
                    2. Stephen Drew SS/Kelly Johnson 2B
                    3. Justin Upton RF
                    4. Russel Branyon/Juan Miranda/Brandon Allen/Paul Goldschmidt 1B
                    5. Chris Young CF
                    6. Miguel Montero C
                    7. Xavier Nady LF
                    8. Melvin Mora 3B
                    9. Pitcher

                    Starters

                    1. Daniel Hudson
                    2. Ian Kennedy
                    3. Joe Saunders

The rest will be between Zach Duke, Armando Galarraga, Barry Enright, and Aaron Heilman, with Enright and Heilman with a leg up on the others so far.

                    Bullpen (IDK the roles yet)

                    Closer = J.J. Putz

                    David Hernandez
                    Kam Mickolio
                    Juan Gutierrez
                    Dunno the rest

Yep he's a starter this year. He was dominant out of the bullpen all season last year. But they need a lefty in the rotation and Coke started his whole minor league career. I think he will do fine, he's got 3 good pitches.

And their new 8th inning guy is Benoit. So they won't lose anything last year in terms of the setup role. Coke starting is pretty low risk and high reward.

It looks like anything could happen, and I have heard Adam Kennedy might be 2B until they call up Dustin Ackley.

As for the rotation Vargas probably would seem the better choice, because I looked at Fister's efficiency in the first half.
