Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
Weather:
1) Do players slip and fall in the rain?
2) Do you actually see the rain fall or is the field just wet? If it does rain during the game is it variable such as heavy to light, stop, start?
3) Do you see more errors from the ball being wet?
Injuries:
1) Anyone have a player get hurt then continues only to get hurt again?
2) Any season ending injuries?
3) Do they have career ending injuries?
Presentation:
1) Do the scores from other teams during your franchise show progress and how often do they update?
2) Anyone check out the playoff atmosphere and if so, is there any difference from a regular game?
3) Any overlays for upcoming milestones, records?
Thanks,
Rules (Chuck)Comment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
Guys, you cannot give up on analog after a couple of weeks from a demo.
Analog is the biggest thing this year and it is very well done. Buttons feel like you are just commanding the dude to hit or pitch.
Analog feels like you have to do work. Makes you feel great when you throw that nasty CC Sabathia slider. The slider with buttons is just a command
Hitting feels very smooth and you can direct hits by swinging inside and out or pulling a bit early or late.
Analog allows you to have total control of what you do.
If you do not just quit because it is hard for the first week then you are not given it a fair shot
It is the main reason I bough this game. It was about time they made analog an optionComment

You never have full control fielding in the showComment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
Speaking of fielding, I just saw my brother and he wanted me to ask you guys about diving in the outfield. Have any of you successfully dove for and caught a ball in the outfield so far?
I'm an Auto field guy, myself, but I could be swayed...it was tough tough tough for me last year.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 03-06-2011, 07:32 PM.Comment

I use Assist which is the closes I can get to manual which SCEA does not allow for some reason.

HOF full analog and I've struk out 15,12,12 & 13 with Volquez in the games i have played with him. Too many and too regular to be just a small sample size. These were all 7 innings or less.
Real problem for me is that in 2 of those games i got hit hard and gave up runs so the results were either a rocket for a hit/hr/k not much contact just putting the ball in play.
What team are you playing against? Perhaps that could explain it.
Maybe you should jump into Franchise and see if your numbers mellow out. I'd assume if this was a major issue amongst all users, some others would post it.Last edited by Heroesandvillains; 03-06-2011, 07:54 PM.Comment

That's great on the face upgrade. I cringed everytime his spot in the rotation was up last year!Comment

Is their a fielding practice (non-RTTS style)?Comment

Full manual in franchise/exhibition was not working out too well with all the changes to fielding and momentum, etc. You barely made plays due to your jumps being so late.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

They never had full manual. They just renamed it to what it is, since they now have full manual in RttS.

Anyways what's the general concensus on power number at default. From some of the posts it seems high but it's still a small pool of dtat. Just curious what those with the game think how it plays at default. (For all things not just poewer I guess)Joshua:
