I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
Does the meter pitching have any oddball "loss of control" innings? or is that more of a classic pitching thing. I use classic pitching as I like to watch the animations for the windups. However, I seem to have been having more and more of these innings, where I'm going along fine, painting the black, gettin K's, doing well. And then all of a sudden, I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. I grooved 4 4-seamers in the 3rd inning earlier tonight, every pitch missed the plate by at least 6 inches, 1 was way high, the other low. I was trying to let the guy hit a HR, to no avail. I ended up getting out of the inning, but it just seemed odd.
I know innings like that happen, being a Cubs fan I know....I know...
It happened right after giving up the first hit of the game, the next guy got the 4 fastballs grooved that missed wide every time to walk. Does confidence play a role in that?
Not saying it didn't make for an exciting inning, just wondering is all.You do what you want in your association, don't let others ruin the fun. Just because other people say it's cheap doesn't mean you have to let it affect your association, just have fun - Evan_OSComment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
Hello. I just want to ask what is the best setting for Franchise mode and what are the things that I need to do to achieve realism.
And what affects the stats on the season? Because There are some unrealistic number averages on some players like my Gardner is batting .350 or what you see is what you get?
Thanks...Last edited by housemikin; 03-22-2011, 10:53 PM.Comment

Re: baserunning flaw
Just a quick rant/complaint/question for someone who may be able to answer this:
Why do the Braves not have these jerseys in MLB The Show(see picture):

Because if you press L2 before the pitcher throws you should feel the controller vibrate and then as he goes into his windup your runner will steal.
Even if you hit a flyball and it looks like it is going to be caught the runner does not stop.Comment

I don't have an answer beyond my own similar experiences with meter pitching in last year's game (I haven't played enough games in this year's yet). It was especially vexing when I'd be pitching with a Cy Young caliber pitcher, the opposing team would squeak a bloop single into the outfield and then the pitcher, even without a change in the way I was controlling him, would totally fall apart for the inning: walking batters, fastballs down the pipe, etc. I know people have discussed and debunked the "scripted" code theories, but this is one area that I always found eyebrow raising.
Granted, pitchers, even good ones, occasionally get rattled and have bad innings. The change in accuracy just seemed abrupt for a pitcher like Halladay. I have a hard time believing he'd give up a roller through the infield and then have a mental breakdown.
I'm not sure what to say about the confidence rating idea. I don't think I ever checked. So, anyways, I have no answer but just wanted to corroborate your experience.
Anyone else? Is this a feature like going into a hitting slump and then having to get lucky on a couple of hits to start turning the tide? Maybe you have to try and hit a bit more of the plate and hope it doesn't get mashed. Maybe he'll settled down again.Comment

Go to Edit Team, Manage Roster find a scrub player to replace and then click on Import Player.
Your d'loaded player will replace this player.Comment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
Is there any way to turn off the right stick option for the fielder jump/dive? I just recently switched back to button fielding, and I'm noticing a small issue. It's probably my fault, but I'm finding that I hold down on the analog pitching follow through a little too long sometimes, and it causes the fielder go into the jumping animation as soon as the ball is put in play.
I know I can fix it by teaching myself to let go of the right stick quickly after my pitches, but it would be nice if I could just turn off this option all together. I didn't see anything in the options though, am I missing something? Is there a way to turn that off?
Thanks
Or, you could give Auto Field a try!
LOL! Just a suggestion.Comment

Does potential carry over? or do you have to replace a player with the Potential rating you want the imported player to have? You do what you want in your association, don't let others ruin the fun. Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
Just FYI....you can use a player from your HDD over and over again....no need to edit a player in your game...export then import over someone else.
You can simply put one each of the potentials on your HDD(export them)...then just keep importing the template and edit it then.

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Q&A Thread
Does any one here know if it's possible be able to use a 2010 save in 2011 game? What I mean is let's say I made a bunch of created players in MLB 10 and then 2011 comes out and I buy it and I don't want to make all those players again from scratch. Will it ever be possible to just use that same file in 2011 that I had in 2010?
Same thing applies to Franchise and Season, RTTS etc. I wonder if we will ever be able to use our files from past games in our new ones. I know that many people won't buy new sports games every year because of this fact. They spent too much time with 10 to start all over again for 11.Comment
