Re: Anybody playing in 1080p?
Just a FYI...on the back of the box from MLB 10 (I'm impatiently waiting for 11 tommorrow) it says...
"Video output in Full HD 1080p requires an HDMI cable and a 1080p native display with an HDMI input supporting HDCP".
Personally I want some feedback on what the 3d aspect looks like.Comment

Re: Anybody playing in 1080p?
Man, we go through this EVERY year. It's like people make up things and believe things they want to believe, and use it as a spring board to make claims that their generic low level TV's are "better".
The game is OPTIMIZED for 720p and looks BETTER on it too. It actually uses the proper filtering mechanisms and the anti-aliasing.
The game doesn't even output at 1080p anyway.Comment

Re: Anybody playing in 1080p?
So then, I have a question. How would I go about setting up my system to not use any scaling for The Show, but I also use my PS3 as a DVD/Blu-Ray player, and would want that to continue to be shown in/scaled to 1080p. Is there a way to do this without having to change my system settings everytime I change from The Show to a movie?
Or am I just confusing myself? You do what you want in your association, don't let others ruin the fun. Just because other people say it's cheap doesn't mean you have to let it affect your association, just have fun - Evan_OSComment

That being said, your not gonna notice a difference between 720p on a 1080p TV and 720p being scaled to 1080p on a 1080p TV.Comment

Re: Anybody playing in 1080p?
I don't see what all the debate is about. One guy is saying his TV, out of the millions of TV's, is so unreal that it looks better on 1080P, when The Show, is built to run on 720P. I believe it probably says it somewhere on the load up screen or game manual even. I remember last years game saying something along the lines of this, for best hdtv results, use 720P, on the load up screen. Set your PS3 to use all 720P, 1080I, 1080P and see which one loads up. Black Ops loads in 1080P, Fight Night Champion loads in 1080P, but The Show will load in 720P.....Do the math.Comment

Re: Anybody playing in 1080p?
MLB The Show 09 was 1080p native..and MLB 10 is suppose to be, as well as MLB 11. But it is optimized to be played in 720p. But its not like other 720p games that get upscaled to 1080p if you force it. It displays in 1080p. One of the few games that do, that is why it looks better...
here is a pic from MLB 09 demo...so I'm sure it has improved since then....don't know about MLB 10 though, I'm still confused about that one.

Re: Anybody playing in 1080p?
Not sure about this year (Didn't get a copy yet) but last year there was the same issue.
I have a 26' monitor that has no automatic upscaling, and if I forced the show 10 to be 1080p, it was utterly horrible. (I think last year if you forced 1080p, it was actually 540p or something, that is something worse than 720p)
And I think it was cleared up on some thread that the show 10 cannot output 1080p, without going through PS3's upscaler, which is not so good.
I can't say for sure, but its probably same this year too.
I SO MISS the crisp graphics of the show 09 1080p.
(Although 10 had better overall lightings...)Comment
