Re: MLB 11 The Show - "The Little Things"

Since this is a little things thread, I'll post what would've been a tremendously cool little thing. Im currently 7 games from finishing my season with the twins. me n the white sox are fighting for the last spot in the playoffs... During my home games i am constantly looking at the scoredboard on the right field wall to see what's the score in the white sox game. It would've been if there would've been a cut-scene which shows my team looking over at the screen over center field to check score and also if the commentators had something cool to say about it.

Probably been mentioned but went into extra innings last night and announcers said due to this game running late some tv show will not be shown.

Not sure if this is neccessarily a "little thing" but it's worth sharing anyways.

I just advanced to the next day in my Jays franchise and an injury pop-up appears on my screen. It says:

"Carlos Villanueva sustained an injury (Broken Nail) during today's game. It appears he will be out for a few days. What would you like to do?"

Tell him to be a man maybe?

Re: MLB 11 The Show - "The Little Things"

this game is addicting. haha when im at wiork, i keep thinking about my franchise and what moves i would make next. really loving all the small details that the devs have paid attention to.

most of what ive experienced has already been mentioned in the prev. 500 some posts. but ill just add one thing.

i like how sometimes when u get a K, especially a 3 pitch k, where u varied u spots, you wud see either Soup or Erik break down the sequence pitch by pitch using the Show track, and they show how the three pitches resulted in the K. i wish there was a way to increase the times they did this.

other than that this is game really very good. its a matter of time that it becomes THE PERFECT baseball game ever.

or even a little replay of the chisox game like they had on nfl 2k5 with chris berman. maybe a little too big to be a little thing though...

they could also just mention it when they show the scores from around the league

All the players were just sitting there not caring that he just hit a home run. Morgan puts his arms up as if "whats up guys" and starts looking around then they all jump up and start hugging him. It made me LOL. My team has good chemistry HAHA.

Last night i was facing Hiroki Kuroda for the Dodgers. I was losing 2-1 at the time and i noticed he was ALWAYS throwing 1st pitch sliders down the middle. I only ever swing at the first pitch if its a fastball or if i guessed the location. Anyway Pence had just been struck out (he bats 2nd for my Brewers) and Braun was up. I said to myself i am waiting back on this pitch and swinging no matter what cause i know its going to be down the middle. I swung later than usual and bang i hit a walk off Home Run off the slider down the middle.

Its those little things in game which are awesome. Those little battles you have. For the rest of the game Kuroda did not throw a slider down the middle on the 1st pitch and most of his 1st pitches ended up being balls.

How is it possible that Kuroda didn't throw a slider for the rest of the game if you hit a walkoff homerun prior to that?

I haven't gotten that far so I have no clue, but I'm assuming not. They're not in the jersey selection screen.

I'd like to be wrong though.

I got that family emergency one with Bay. I just gave up a deep fly to right for an out, and they said "If that were hit in Shea, he'd probably be circling the bases by now. Not in Citi." he added a few more words to it, but I thought it was cool to hear that. First time I've heard it in this game.

                              2 commentary/extra innings-related things:

In the top of the 12th inning, Vasgersian says "Due to the length of our game tonight, an episode of the long-running animated program The Wilkersons will not be aired" or something along those lines.

At the end of that game with the commentary crew signing off after doing the player of the game, you can hear Matt say "Jeez, am I even gonna be able to find a cab to get out of here this late at night?"

                              Pretty awesome.
