Still not having fun. Why oh Why did they alter Rookie!!!

Making some time over the weekend to give it another good go to see if I can enjoy the game, if not, back to 10 until the PS4 probably!
I just started to not use anything and I'm starting to rip the ball, hitting more home runs, longer home runs and more hits. Try not using anything, go and play some home run derby, so you can just get used to watching the ball, like in real baseball the longer you wait the harder you hit it.
Try it without anything I was relunctant and now I'm loving using nothing

Yeah I've tried that, though I'll give it a bit longer this time. Just hard as I loved 10 and had some real close fun games and with 11 i'm just not feeling it. Though I'm going to give it the chance.

As for home run derby I'm alright at that, shame the pitchers aren't like that in franchise mode!

I'm starting to tear it up now.. Hitting close to 400 in my last 12 games. I was over 10 feet away from my 50inch TV so I moved up 7 feet and I completely stop using the square button. I use X about 95% of the time Circle if i need to protect with a bad hitter up..

I used to use GP all the time. Ever since MVP had it where the color of the ball denoted the pitch.

Now its changed in 2011 so I stopped using it. I generally only use it if Im down big.

Last night I was playing a game in my Franchise and I was down like 7-0 in the 7th against Chris Young (man he's nasty). Anyway, I wanted to get on the board so I turned the GP on. Brian McCann came up to the plate and I GP'd a Slider Low & In, I was wrong but still swung anyway and he blasted a BOMB into the Upper Deck. Theoretically because I GPd wrong, I should have gotten a swing penalty. Well if I did, no one told McCann!

I still lost the game but at least I got on the board.

My Franchise record is 10-3 with GP off (minus those last 3 innings)

GP is a good stepping stone for new users but it really isnt necessary for Veteran MLB gamers!

Lol I really hope Chris Young will be good this year the Mets really need him to be. If you guess wrong and still hit the ball you get a bonus.

If you're using the square button all the time, that has to be half of your problem. Using the Rangers for example, people like Andrus and Borbon aren't going to hit many home runs, so using the square button is useless. Even using the "x" button on Hamilton, Beltre and Cruz produce nice home runs.

I haven't even played this game with friends in over a week.

That never would have happened with last years version. So sad.

After a while it's not that big of a deal, run scoring is down a lil but using 1/4 and pitch location is close enough.
