MLB 11 The Show - Bug/Glitch Workaround Discussion
a whole year goes by and i think ok the WORST thing about mlb 10 the show will be fixed. but nope. hit a triple, the next guy comes to the plate, and before the first pitch is thrown, my guy on third automatically heads to the plate, the opposing pitcher steps off the mound, rundown begins and i'm out. how in the hell could they NOT fix this AWFUL bug from one year to the next?!!!Tags: None -

It's not a glitch, must be you doing something while guess pitching ( I assume you are)
Mostly happens when you have the analog pointing down. Used to happen to me back in 08Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.Comment

its user error, not a glitch.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Its happening because you are guessing square pitch and the zone is down. Just be careful not to do this. Or switch the base running controls to classic.MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Red Sox

re: MLB 11 The Show - Bug/Glitch Discussion Thread
it happens without touching any buttons. not all the time, though. i've played 11 full games since i bought mlb 11 the show and i've been playing year 'round since 09. it's been a glitch in each of the past 3 seasons... can't speak to 08. google it, though. it's been there each year in default baserunning... at least (that's what i play on) it happened only in the latest game (not that i have had many times with a guy on third). happens to my son a lot too. he just starts tapping R1 as soon as he gets a guy on third but the pitcher still throws over and picks him off when the glitch DOES happen. and trust me... i want to believe it's user error too... but it's not. and as far as it being the result of guessing square and down in the zone...i RARELY guess square.... usually only x or o. i'm not saying that doesn't trigger it, as well, though. i'll change to classic baserunning when i get a guy over to third next time and see how that works. thanks for the tip, pittsburgher86.Comment

1. Use classic baserunning.
2. Be careful as to what you are doing.
3. Do not take a lead at third base. You don't need one anyway.
But, yes, I have noticed a few people around here have this problem since me and I always make sure to give my advice, because I had such a hard time with problem and want to help out my fellow OSers when I can.MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Boston Red Sox

Re: MLB The Show Bugs and Glitch Thread
That is for reporting the bugs to the dev team.
This is to discuss glitches and bugs, and possible work around, etc. And possible ways to recreate them for better reporting.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: MLB The Show Bugs and Glitch Thread
So anyway....I can second the batter/pitcher analysis pitch counts being messed up, but has anyone figured out why it's happening? I noticed that it sometimes throws an extra pitch or several in on the count before the pitcher ever takes the mound, but is that the only problem? If so, it's pretty easily worked around and perhaps a fairly easy fix. If it's happening multiple times over the course of the game, then it's a problem.
Also...I wanted to bring up this post that I made in the impressions thread from a few days ago:

Note: The "Pitcher Warm" appearing on the highlight reel and postgame box may actually be part of a serious bug, but I'm not going to throw it in the bugs thread until I have a clearer picture of what happened, and whether I can recreate it. Basically - the graphic got stuck on the screen after a pitching change, and remained there for the entire game (which of course obscures the out and at-bat counts - that's why I said it's potentially serious).
What I do know is this: Following a pitching change the score bar didn't come back up (already documented in bug thread). The fix for that is to pause the game and unpause it, which usually returns the bar. It did, but it also left the "pitcher warm" graphic stuck in its place without disappearing. It stayed this way through the entire game, through replays and, as you can see, even through the postgame sequence.
I'd like to see if anyone else can try to duplicate this one - so far I haven't had any success with it. It might be one of those "perfect storm" bugs that's just impossible to find the root cause.Comment

The pitcher warm bug just happened to me and a friend playing on the same box. It was Angels @ Brewers.Comment
