    Re: Gamespot Review Thread

As Garrett just said... agree to disagree. Lol. It's someone's opinion, he's allowed to have it, and it in no way affects my enjoyment of the game.

It is what it is, and in the grand scheme of things, this title gets a massive amount of praise.

I have never seen a place get so uptight about a review that the reviewer called a great game both gs and ign.

Great is their review of the game and you guys want to insult them and their families unless they call it a perfect 10

      Geezz incredible

That's weird, I just went and read the review and it seemed spot-on to me. Nothing seemed inaccurate or unfair.

        What's the big complaint?

I have no idea how IGN can justify giving 11 an 8 after giving 10 an 8.9?? All they did was improve the game?? Why this game is getting below a 9 anywhere is beyond me. I think it's amazing.

Because reviews of yearly titles can only go up if they bring in a new features and newer stuff that is in the core of the game.

IGN is not saying the show is getting worst. But reviews for sports titles requires the game to improve in more areas then just under the hood

It is a great game and we die hards see the changes but a casual fan is going to pick up this years game and think is last years with analog controls

Why? because the die hards make up a small fracture of the people who buy video games.

NBA 2K11 made a leap in one year that nobody thought a sports game could do so now any game who does not do things like that are going to not see spikes in game scores.

Is not that they are saying it sucks. They are saying is a great game that does a lot of what we know and adds little to the new ordeal.

That is their opinion. What is the big deal

Most people besides the die hards are not going to care that the outfield has new ratings based that determines their awareness or that the balls now cut in a diff angle.

They care about what you bringing to the table this year that will make me forget last year.

That is how scores are gathered

Maybe Sony should make a terrible game for for a few years, and then release this same game in 2014 and watch it get a 10 for being a major improvement. That or put Michael Jordan on the cover.

I personally can care less what somebody reviews the game. If I like the game then I like it

I love OS because people here talk about the sim aspect of sports and can let you know things abut the game that will make you decide if you are going to buy or not

The show could have received a 7 and I would still buy it and love it.

But people need to realize that reviews are not made with die hard sim heads in mind.

We are small in the scheme of things

I hate when they say that its "same as last year."

So was baseball IRL. People still hit the ball with a woodstick called a bat last time I checked....unbelievable.

The "gripes" they have is called nitpicking, and aren't going to ruin the game for me. I have had game for exactly 1 week now and I am enjoying it despite the steep learning curve!

Sorry but what NBA2K11 did has never been done by any sports game from one year to the next.

Their 9.5 was well worth it

You are correct: mainstream review sites have the wrong people reviewing sports games. The problem is that some of higher ups at game producing companies pay a lot of attention to what the gaming press says. So far the guys making The Show have been insulated enough from that kind of pressure to not crank out useless back of the box features but there's always the fear that that might change. Considering all the subtle changes to this year's game that IMO make it hands down superior to MLB10 and how those changes completely flew over that reviewer's head... well it should reflect poorly on Gamespot but only us cork sniffers would notice I guess.

They are also not given perks or special treatment for giving a good score.

                            Just sayin'

I know people will say "This doesn't happen with The Show"

It happens with everything that is given a review, its called advertising and marketing.

I am not saying the game deserves an 8 but people who are fans of certain games always think they deserve a better score and when certain games receive better scores, don't think they're not influenced in some way.

It deserves an 8.0 for removing features from last years game!

Those of you who run practice sims five or six seasons deep and adjust sliders to get absolute, total, 100% realism that reflects EXACTLY what you see in real life, even if it means managing ALL 30 TEAMS to achieve it, are not too far off from the "dungeon and dragon clowns".
