The camera options alone is a big change. Then you throw in better jumbo trons, better player models and then you throw in the analog controls. Yeah it is the not much changed? What ever!

Then COOP, hugely customizable online leagues, redesigned fielding, redesigned RttS, highly addictive Challenge of the Week with LEGIT prizes, etc etc etc


Gamespot and IGN love to do this crap. Seven out of the ten reviews so far are 90 and above, the only two 8's/80 are IGN and Gamespot. This game improved so much over the previous versions, it is the best Show yet, but somehow gets reviewed lower than previous.



Thus I never visit those sites, especially after the Eidos fiasco that got Jeff Gerstmann fired for his review on Gamespot. Such a sham.

Welcome to the world. I really don't care if they gave the game a 5. What I do care about is when they said the game has not changed. That is when I laugh.

People still care this much about reviews? Seriously - if you enjoy it, why do you care what others think?

I care because unfortunately there's people out there on the fence about buying this game who trust these websites. SCEA deserve all the sales they can get from this great product they put out every year. Plus, once that liscense with 2K runs out it's possible you could see EA trying for complete exclusivity with MLB as well. The better The Show sells the more hesitant MLB would be to make that sort of deal.

Okay, so I'm wondering how many people who are so upset with this review actually read it and didn't just look at the score and/or bullet points? It's not a bad review. It takes issue with a few things some here have fairly taken issue with. While some of their gripes seem to be more due to unfamiliarity or lack of skill with certain systems they don't trash anything and largely give credit where it's due.

They mention numerous times that the gameplay is fantastic and improved over 10. They drool all over the pitching mechanic (rightfully so IMO) and close by saying it's better than 10 and still the king of baseball. I don't agree with the 8 as a score either, but it's just a number and it's all opinion.

I rarely agree 100% with any review, but I fail to see the "typical gamespot BS" people mention. It was a pretty fair review-particularly for gamespot IMO.
