I usually play the RTTS but since getting a PS3 and being able to download the rosters will try a Franchise when the roster comes out this year. This would greatly frustrate me. Is there a way with a second controller to let the CPU play out the game but for me to make the managerial decisions for the opposing team. That way I could decide when to relieve and pull a reliever?

Re: cpu yanking closer too fast
I'm curious as to how many people are seeing this in an actual season/franchise situation? I ask because I've seen some strange hooks in various exhibition games I've played that include a closer getting pulled. But I've also played 6 games in season mode, with 3 opportunities for the CPU in a closing situation and the closer stayed in.
I wonder if maybe the CPU is employing a win-at-all-cost matchup strategy in exhibition games like it might do in, for example, the playoffs? Just guessing here, although it does seem that the reliever logic is a bit different in exhibition.Comment

Re: cpu yanking closer too fast
AI needs to consider how long the pitcher has been pitching in the game, and give less weight to the current situation. A closer giving up a ting run doesn't mean that he needs to be pulled.Comment

Re: cpu yanking closer too fast
Correct doughron I just play exhibition against cpu only. Ive tried different ways to fix this issue and it cant be fixed with any slider adjustment. so I think this is a glitch or bug.Comment

Re: cpu yanking closer too fast
I know it isnt a stamina issue because i check the energy bar every time and its always almost full. Also relievers are being yanked with as few as 7 pitches. Ive played 8 games today and in every close game this issue happened. Theres no fix for this Ive tried everything. This is a issue only the devs. can fix. I hope its soon.Comment

Re: cpu yanking closer too fast
I was down 5-4 and Papelbon came in to save it in the 9th for the CPU.
First batter was a HR to tie it up
Yanked

Re: cpu yanking closer too fast
It sounds like it's some kind of programmed logic where if the Closer is touched for a run, he's done.
Developers, if you're reading--can you please implement a system (next year) where we can control the cpu's bullpens and lineups? This would solve everything--we could ensure those real-life decisions and clutch matchups.
Some people might think this would make games easier--if you want to "cheat" so be it. I think it would make games more challenging and realistic.Comment

Re: cpu yanking closer too fast
it happened again but worse this time phils cpu at giants me bottom of the 9th philly up 4-3, 2 outs nobody on lidge pitching , I single with torres and lidge is yanked for madson. Its getting to the point where I dont wanna play anymore until if or when this is patched. Its bad enough when they get yanked when they give up a run with a two run lead but this is rediculous.Comment

Re: cpu yanking closer too fast
Can somebody make sure Ramone is aware of this thread?
Pretty major issue in all seriousness for franchise users.
If SCEA can include the fix for this in a patch I am sure they will.Comment
