anyone have a "good" player on your team that you just can't hit with?

I'm about 18 games into my franchise and for me it's Brian McCann! I dominate with just about everyone else but can't hit with McCann for a lick. I think I've got 2 homeruns with B-Mac compared to 10 I've hit with Jason Heyward, 6 with Chipper Jones and 7 with Dan Uggla. And for the longest time I couldn't even get his average over .200. I think just in the past couple of games in my franchise I've finally gotten over .200 with him.

Bruce was the same, but all of the sudden I started getting some XBH with him and now he is hitting respectably.

Stubbs on the other hand has hit 6 HR in April so far, and fluctuates between .380-.390, wonder when his first slump will come?
Hey Reds fan. On my Braves franchise I was doing bad with Nate McLouth so I traded him and a minor leaguer to the Reds for Drew Stubbs and Jeremy Hermida. I don't get a lot of hits with Stubbs but when I do they are usually with guys on base and then I always steal 2nd with him. I love his speed.

Oh and 1 more thing about the hitting I've learn is that if you be patient (which is a whole lot easier said than done) and aren't afraid to hit with 2 strikes then you usually will end up getting better pitches to hit. I've even draw some walks which I never could do before. I even got 5 walks in 1 game against Roy Oswalt but somehow still lost the game.

I think you're right about his stance. That's gotta be what it is. Nothing else explains it. The ratings are there, I'm just as patient with him as anyone else, and he gets good pitches to hit but I just can't do anything with 'em when he does. I thought about moving him in front of Votto to see if he got even better pitches to hit but Phillips is tearing the cover off the ball there and I don't want to mess with his groove.

Stubbs does really well for me. I think he's in the low .300's with a couple homers and 12 rbi's. It's just like you said. It's seems like I always get a hit with him any time I've got runners in scoring position. As for the steals, I just can't get anything going with him.

Oh, and a tip for Stubbs. Pitchers love to work up to him despite his high hot zones. Try looking for a fastball up until you get to a 2 strike count. I almost always get one up early in an at-bat that I can drive.

That is a great one, so true. I think almost every hit I have had with him tends to be up in the zone for some reason. Good choice on that trade btw.
