Re: Changeups are killing this game for me
I just played a few games guessing fastball low on every pitch and it is working pretty good. I put up a 10 pitch at bat which I was not coming close to before. Guessing fastball low everytime seems like a viable tactic as real hitters always look fastball then react to anything else. If the guess pops low but does not indicate fastball, I assume it is a change which I watch. It is coming along nicely!
Oh, and I am using zone hitting on all star...analog controls are great, just not for hitting!

My biggest problem with the change is how big the PCI is for the CPU if it ia anywhere in the zone. If they even have decent timing they always crush it. That said changeups are my second worst pitch to swing at, changes and sliders can get me swinging out of my shoes, even when I am being relatively patient.

I agree the changedown and away and the slider down and away are near impossible to hit; until you develop the eye. I have developed the eye, but still do get beat regular, and thats not a bad thing, as for it getting called a strike when its low, you could turn off varible Umpires, so the iffy calls should go your way.My biggest problem with the change is how big the PCI is for the CPU if it ia anywhere in the zone. However if its a two strike pitch you need to protect the strike zone. Anything close you should be hacking at in an attempt to foul away, remember Its always better to go down swinging then looking.....Comment

Re: Changeups are killing this game for me
I like Wide 2 best. A lot of the camera angles seem to give advantage to either determining balls/strikes (low zoomed cam) or pitch speed. (high backed out cam). Wide 2 gives me both (Wide regular is zoomed out too far and Wide 3 is too low and in to tell the pitch speed). Really low pitches are a little tricky still but at least I can get an idea of the speed they're coming in.Comment
