Shutouts are really hard to get.

If you want your franchise to be overpowering, turn up your defense and human pitching sliders, or turn down the level that you play on.

2010 might have made it seem like the no hitter is relatively common given how many got thrown (Edwin Jackson? Really?!), but it's not, and shutouts also aren't common given how live the ball still is even after the steroid era ended.

Although I get it, that one might've been a little over the line due to the shame of the situation...not anyone in particular, just that it happened that way. Joyce and Gallaraga both handled it as well as any man could be expected to, and I praise them for that!

Man, that was a mean one!

Jeez, it was just a joke.

On topic...In regards to pitchers getting hits...keep in mind that there is often a mental let down when facing a pitcher due to the usually severe drop off in hitting ability from position players. It happens to guys on the mound all the time so I'm sure it can happen to us in the same way.

I have played about 20/25 full games so far and have only 1 shutout. They aren't easy to get. The game is very realistic.

Finally I'm just going to give him a fastball down center since he was hitting everywhere else. Bam. Single shot

I've yet to hit for a cycle, should I be frustrated too?

                    No.

I know its only one season. But weren't there more no-no's then cycles last year?

I wouldn't be surprised if there were more last year, but over the course of baseball history I think they're just about even.

                        Right.

I played (managed/watched) every game for 3 seasons of a franchise in '09, 1 season of '10, and simmed/or sped played who knows how many more games of '09 and '10, and once was I was no-hit by the cpu. That's all I've seen, and that seems fair to me.

On a side note, in my very first game EVER when I opened '09, I turned a triple play. Have yet to see one again. Again, fair to me.

Shouldn't worry about this. Aside from last year, no-nos happen once every 1-2 years right? Shutouts don't matter to me as long as i get the win. I know what you're saying that the CPU always seems to get a run in the 8th or 9th. I've actually only had maybe 10 shutouts in mlb 09 and 10 the show combined b/c my starters are usually gassed after 7.

I just got a perfect game with Ben Sheets (signed him with the Mets) Vs. The Phillies.

Can't believe there's no trophy for a perfect game.

I've never hit for the cycle in any baseball game, but I've gotten several shutouts and a no-hitter. I generally suck at offense and am pretty good at pitching in baseball games though.

Has anyone ever gotten a triple play?
