Strikeout Vs. Plate vision/discipline = ?
I don't know if anyone knows, but.. Is it easier to strike out a batter with high plate discipline and low plate vision, or is it vice versa. I was just wondering. Because sometimes I can get 8+ K's a game. And other times I can barely get 1-2 with an "Ace."

Re: Strikeout Vs. Plate vision/discipline = ?
Plate vision determines the size of a hitter's Plate Coverage Indicator, increasing both the rate at which he makes contact on swings that are timed correctly and the quality of that contact. Plate discipline determines the hitter's swing selectivity, or how likely he is to chase bad pitches/wait for good pitches to hit.
There's no easy blanket answer on which type is easier to strike out, ceteris paribus. It depends on your pitching style.Last edited by Two Seamer; 04-04-2011, 03:42 PM. -

I'd say guys with high plate discipline are easier, because eventually they will let go a pitch on the corner and it will be called a strike. Batters with high plate vision (and bigger PCI) will foul everything you throw with 2 strikes, it's annoying lolComment
