I will agree with Ryan above that you need to check out your CAP in an actual game mode because last night I had my guy looking a lot like me, then played a game and I looked like an old man with baggy eyes. It really didn't look too much like the player I created. Also, my wife makes fun of me when I'm doing my CAP's and says I'm playing Barbie's which infuriates me and then I go back to choosing which armbands I want..

I wonder if there is some kind of EA patent? I used that system in Tiger Woods where you upload your pictures and then make your CAP from there...That would probably be the best way to do it.
I agree about losing patience after 20 minutes (more like 10
). I always just use a 'random' face for my guy.

Haha, my girlfriend says something similar to me. She says im more obsessed with accessories than a woman. My comeback is "Its not how you play the game, its how good you look doing it"I will agree with Ryan above that you need to check out your CAP in an actual game mode because last night I had my guy looking a lot like me, then played a game and I looked like an old man with baggy eyes. Re: Make A Create-a-Player Look Like You
There are features that cannot be modeled well, but in general you should do well if you try to exaggerate facial features you notice easily.
I tried that way in 10, and mine ended up looking like a goblin. I hated it first, but he grew on me and by the time he reached majors I loved him.Comment

Re: Make A Create-a-Player Look Like You
I second the suggestion from Nusie to get to good pictures, one from straight on and the other a side profile. I'm currently working on a fictional roster project and in order to create the player's faces so that no two look alike, I'm using this method to emulate already existing faces, either from real MLB players, or from friends of mine.
The process certainly takes awhile and it's worth using the face generator for practice. If you have some time on your hands, it's a good idea to go through each of the features and move the sliders to the extremes just to get familiar with what each one does. Some of them make subtle changes. Under "Eyebrows" for instance, the adjustment for "thickness" changes the height of the brow ridge at the outside end of each eye socket. You only see that if you play around with the features and spin the face around as you do it in order to know what each thing does.
Personally, I have some experience with drawing and anatomy, but even if you don't you can use the same principles to get the face you want. That is to say, look, look, and look some more. As you adjust each feature, you have to keep comparing the created face on the screen to your pictures.
I also agree with the person that suggested getting some of the basic things done first. Getting the right head shape, the length of your face, etc. In drawing classes, they tell you to work the whole face and not concentrate on individual features too quickly. What that means is that no matter how accurately you get the mouth, if it isn't in the right place on the face, or in the right relationship to the other features, it still won't look right.
When adjusting the nose, for instance, check for certain relationships. To determine how wide it should be, compare it to the inside corners of the eyes. Similarly for the mouth. Normally the corners of the mouth extend to about the midpoints of the eyes. That's just a rule of thumb however, and you might find that your mouth is a bit more narrow than that, or wider than that.
The general idea is to get the overall shape of the face right, how far out the brow is compared to the chin, how narrow or wide the jaw is, how much distance there is between the nose and mouth, the mouth and the chin. Then, when you go back in to do the details of each feature, the features are already in the right place.
I hope this helps,

Re: Make A Create-a-Player Look Like You
I haven't really noticed any adjustments to the CAP aside from SCEA improving the textures and making the person look more life-like. I practically have all the settings and stuff memorized for my own player (aside from a change to a different eyebrow type). I guess after repeatedly working on my player it's become second-nature. I do think SCEA San Diego is working on not only implementing this feature but also getting it right.
I tried taking two pictures of myself (front and side). It worked well, but you also have to take a 45 degree view. When you go to edit some of the facial features, the player is not exactly in profile view.
Selecting the right base (Face 1 to 16 or so) also plays a factor.Comment

You still have it much easier compared to female ballplayers:
