I completely disagree. As nice as that sounds, that's just not reality. It may not matter as much to someone like a Braves fan because Atlanta doesn't have the option to close a roof, but in cities like Seattle and Houston where the roof is closed a lot, it's very imporrtant.

As someone mentioned earlier, I don't really need an animation, I just want the roofs to be closed when it rains.

I don't see why they can't animate it. The roof of Safeco takes about 10 minutes to full open or close, so it is not like it would take a ton of processing power to animate that. Also, the Safeco Field rules state that once the roof is opened or closed during the game, it must stay that way for the remainder of the game.

There are also unique rules that apply to balls that may hit part of the roof structure in all ballparks which have them, so it is very much part of the game. These rules are different for each roofed stadium and they all have them. I don't know about other parks, but I assume it is the same but winds inside Safeco move in different ways when the roof is opened or closed. This very much has an influence on the field.

Regardless, I don't really care if it is animated or not, I just want the option to have it closed or opened.
