Re: Power Swing
I do too now. It's cut my strikeouts down from 15-18 a game to 7-9 a game.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Power Swing
I've maybe used it a total of 5 times in my last 15 games.
Last night, I'm behind 4-3. 9th inning. My Yankees are at home against The Twins. 2-0 count with Posada. Power swing...
Bang! Tie game! Posada drives one into the right center field stands to tie it all up.
Uh, let's just say...Boone Logan didn't allow the tie to last very long. Bummer.
Usually, I swing and miss with power swing. But, that homer officially makes that two long balls with the square button.
I've probably hit three times more homers with contact swing...but I use contact swing A LOT.Comment

Re: Power Swing
I Use the power swing a little not that much, I mainly go with the Normal and Contact, usually contact when I have 2 Strikes on me.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics

Re: Power Swing
I've hit some pretty big shots with the power swing on grooved fastballs, especially in combination with pushing the right stick up to induce a fly ball. But only on balls belt-high and up. Anything lower and they seem to get popped up. And like most everyone else mentioned, I only use it on hitters counts. And occasionally on the first pitch on an AB. CPU pitchers seem to throw a lot down the middle on first pitches. I try to run into one every now and again.
The majority of my homers are from normal swing though. Especially the hung curveballs. Power swing seems to only put balls over the fence if the pitch is nice and straight. Anything with any break on it isn't handled well by a power swing in my point of view.Comment
