Besides 30 team control, what else do you have to set to manual for the 29 teams the cpu controls in order to prevent some of the weird trades from happening? Also what do I set so I can keep things like star players from becoming free agents? I've heard to keep the training on manual and not have them train anything, but right now I'm controlling lineups, and the 40 man roster? Anything else I should put to manual for the cpu teams? I'm not really sure how to put my settings now since the patch came out. THanks in advance guys.

Hey guys. Just got an updated roster from April 18th (don't think it's official) and I am getting the save glitch. I've been reading the last 10 pages of this thread but I don't see any solution? I'd love to start my franchise but this is holding me back.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I started a franchise using the April 11 update and am not having any problems. Sorry I can't give you a better answer.

Just tried the April 11th update and it didn't work as well. So frustrated.

EDIT: Maybe it was an unofficial roster yet again? I took it from the roster thread in this forum. A link to a working roster I can save would be nice.

Unlike how some have spread some misguided information.....it has NOTHING to do with it being an "official"...."edited"...or ANY certain type of roster. They will all work.(I'm sorry, I just don't get why guys post things as fact when they are in fact...just guessing....drives me nuts).

This may work for you though...
Start your game...immediately save the roster(just go right to the SAVE section and save the default roster w/o doing anything....
Now load WHATEVER roster you want.....and immediately save it by OVERWRITING the save you made of the default roster.
When LOADING a roster for your franchise, make sure it's that overwrite one.
Should work.

Between analog throwing errors and the glitch errors my team is making Bill Buckner look like Ozzie Smith. My catcher Posey had 3 errors last game. 2 were on strikeouts in the dirt and the 3rd was on a foul ball that bounced off of home plate.

Between analog throwing errors and the glitch errors my team is making Bill Buckner look like Ozzie Smith. My catcher Posey had 3 errors last game. 2 were on strikeouts in the dirt and the 3rd was on a foul ball that bounced off of home plate.

Yeah, ive had a few of those as well last nite against the Rangers...Not a big deal but quite annoying seeing the box score.

Trade logic seems to still want to be a little goofy. Although some are awesome (Reyes on the block in NYC), CIN is in first place and had Phillips on the market. (who I quickly went over and removed). I have no qualms about a playoff team listing prospects (for a playoff push piece), but that was kinda silly. The Yanks seem to want to unload some signature pieces while in first as well...don't know how the AI approaches this.

The kicker was the Nats listing Harper as available...pulled him off pretty quick.

So errors are being scored on dropped third strikes as well? I thought it was just on "ball 4 in the dirt"?

I've seen that one in nearly every game since the patch.

Also, I know they tweaked the way catchers handle balls in the dirt (likely the cause of the error glitch), but now I can't recall a passed ball/wild pitch in a very long time...I used to see 2 or 3 per game. Anyone else seeing (not seeing) this?

In my games WPs used to happen once per game per team pre-patch. Post-patch, about 0.1 WP per game per team. The MLB ave is about 0.33 WP per game per team, so WP went from three times excessive to three times infrequent compared to real life. This is after 80 games or so. But WPs do happen, it's just a bit of rarity post-patch.

As a Reds fan, I could see how the game AI could put Phillips on the trade block. He's in the last year of his contract, can be moved for 3 good prospects, and will be 30 in the offseason.His salary is 9.5 million and the Reds only have 88 million in cap space. I'll probably look at signing him to a 3 year deal, at least until I can find a suitable replacement.In real life, a trade would be unlikely because his club option becomes mutual if he's traded.

As to Harper, move him to LF.It's what I did. It's June 1 and I still haven't seen him on trade block.

Can't hit to save my life with the pure analog. Is there a trick to this? I am aiming the left stick like the old style of hitting and pushing up on the right analog to swing but I am terrible!
