I still get the occasional stutter. Sometimes a pitch here or there but mostly on replays. I did rebuild the database about a month ago as well. Not a huge deal I suppose

Here's just an annoying one...

power hitters making perfect timing, solid contact only to fly out to CF. Contact hitters do the same but it usually ends in a hard hit up the middle for a single. Just doesn't make much sense that you have to be "late" or "early" on timing to hit one over the fence the majority of the time.

Baserunners STILL try to steal 3rd and home plate after I swing and miss on a hit-and-run. Also, after about 500 hit and run signals, I think i've gotten maybe 2 strikes I could actually make contact on.

You can work around this glitch by calling time by pressing down the d-pad while you wait for the next pitch. The steal sign then will be cancelled.

... Still stuttering like crazy, especially vs the Yankees at Yankee stadium.... sometimes it does it almost every 3rd pitch.

I think I am just an anomaly, but I just can not hit via the analog stick after the patch and am pulling my hair out. I have kept my sliders at the defaults (was batting great pre patch), and even when changing pitch speed and cameras am not having success. I am not exaggerating when I say that in 20 games post patch I have yet to score 1 run. Veteran batting btw.

Here are my issues:

-Can not get around on 4 seam fastballs no matter how "early" I perceive my swing to be--they are always hit opposite field.
- When I do hit the ball solid it is either on a line directly to an opposing player, or an outfielder tracks the ball down on the warning track
-Perfect timing/solid contact = lineouts, fly outs, ground outs.
-In the 20 post patch games I've played I have been no hit into the 7th 10 times
-I'm striking out more often as I am missing pitches right down the gut, even with perfect timing (contact always reads "just off")

I'm not posting this as a complaint--just extremely frustrated--I need help badly because as much as I love this game, this issue making the game nearly unplayable. Pre patch I was hitting around .300 and loved how fair and balanced the analog swing mechanic felt. Post patch I am batting sub 100 (lucky to get 3 hits per game--all infield singles deep in the hole to shortstop), and I am feeling cheated. I've set my TV to "Game mode" with no difference, and am even suspecting my analog stick on the controller may be broken?

I guess what I am looking for is how SCEA made analog hitting "easier" in the last patch. Did they increase the solid contact zones, did they play with the swing timing at all? Did they do anything regrding dead zones on the analog stick itself? Maybe my motion is wrong now?

Perhaps if I knew the changes they made, I could adjust the correct slider or make the adjustment in my swing timing to compensate?

I'm desperate guys. Any help would be much appreciated.

WOW, glad im not alone, I have also had issues with analog. Seems a disproportionate number of balls hit hard are outs or lazy fly balls. And i cant seem to pick up the ball on all star anymore. Weird. I try veteran but then its to easy and Stats are grossly inflated. I cannot find a happy medium with analog hitting.

Sorry if this is an idiotic question or it has already been answerd, but the patch update comes with the system update right? Or do I have to specifically download the patch on its own?/ Because I have to update my PS3 through my computer so I'm jw if the system update should have this patch or not

No, PS3 firmware updates and game patches are separate. The individual games prompt you for a patch download if there is one available, when you start up the game while your PS3 is connected to the internet.

I'm not sure if it's possible to download a game patch through the PC. Maybe someone else can chime in and answer that part more thoroughly.

No, PS3 firmware updates and game patches are separate. The individual games prompt you for a patch download if there is one available, when you start up the game while your PS3 is connected to the internet.

Thanks a bunch for the help man, I appreciate it. I know software updates for PS3 are available through the PS3 website and using USB, I wonder if game updates are also available that way. I hope there are because I'm unbale to connect my PS3 online at this moment or for a while and I'd love to get all these patches because of Franchise

I'm 99.9% sure that game patches aren't available to download via PC. The PS3 needs to connect to grab them. Sorry to break it to you, it's really something that Sony should address.

does anyone understand what this franchise fix means?

Treat CPU controlled user teams as CPU teams for purposes of reducing trades during the season.

I know its been a while since the last patch but i've always been curious as to what this really does
