    I really try not to...but admittedly I have done so on occasion. With a 162 game season, though, I try to remember that I have plenty of time to make up a game, and with any luck along the way I'll have my share of odd bounces that go in my favor.

    But, I was very close two nights ago...in the final 2 innings I blew a 6 run lead. Then, in the bottom of the tenth, I walked the lead off runner: a 2-2 strike (not even borderline, fully in the box) was called a ball, and then I missed with the 3-2 pitch. Managed to get a double play ball on the first pitch of the next at bat, but my second baseman bobbled it, and then mishandled it picking it up off the ground, and couldn't even manage to get the runner at first. Next batter singles to left, but hit it so sharply the runner didn't try to round third and score. So bases loaded, no outs, tie game, bottom 10.

    Strike out next batter. Get next batter to pop up foul to third. Almost out of it...ground ball to first, didn't want to chance an errant throw to the pitcher coming over to cover the bag so I take it myself, but ran right over the bag without touching it...whew, still got time to go back...ran right over it again. Runner is safe, winning run scored.

    I'm having a hard enough time finding time to play, so no way was I going to quit a game that I had already spent an hour and a half on. So, I took the loss...

    But, the next night when my wife needed me to help out with some household chores . . . I had no problem shutting it down as Detroit had jumped out to a 5-0 lead on me off of three long balls, and my subsequent lack of scoring from a bases loaded no out situation.

    So for the time being, we'll just call it even between me and the ol' CPU.

      I don't like to restart, but I'd be lying if I said I haven't done it a few times - especially with this game.

      I've had the dropped fly ball happen a few times already in my dynasty where it cost me a game. Strangely, the cpu never seems to just drop a fly ball.

        Yep.

        Most recent example is me up 5 runs going into the ninth and Fast Forwarding to the end of top of the 9th only to be down 3.

          I have over the years, I rarely do it now since I have developed a lot more patience over the years.

          One time in MLB 09, I had a no hitter through 25 outs with AJ Burnett and up 1-0 and I proceeded to give up a hit and felt deflated. Next thing I knew I was losing 6-1 and I was so frustrated that I turned the game off. I didn't feel the game screwed me, I just didn't want to keep looking at what just happen for the next 5 minutes so I just quit.

            I've never shut the game off completely, but I've quit and simulated to the end of a game.

              Some good tales of woe in here!

              I was expecting a bunch of "You should NEVER quit a game responses" ha. Hopefully SCEA is working on ironing out a few of these frustrations for a patch of 2012.

              Usually I'll roll with the imperfections, but last night was my tipping point.

                I was playing a game the other day, Cubs vs D-Backs.
                I gave up 3 runs in the first with only 1 out. Most of the runs were given up due to glitches and/or bugs in the game. I was so ready to quit and restart the game but i decided to keep going.

                The final score was 6-3..... I WON!

                One thing that Yogi Berra said that makes the most sense is, "This game aint over til its over."

                Until you get that 27th out, anything can happen in this game!
                And thats why I love it so!

                  Yea, you guys are all a little crazy. I was playing a season as the Cubs before all the roster updates came out (just for fun) and I simmed until the playoffs started...

                  Game 7 NLCS I went down 6-0 to the Marlins in the top of the 1st, I came back to win 7-6 with a HR in the bottom of the 8th, and went on to win the World Series. That NLCS game 7 was the most fun I've had in a video game, EVER.

                  If I had quit like all of you it never would have happened; I will always remember that game. Suck it up and keep playing the game, man oh man. You never know what can happen.

                    If it's a bug and it makes a big difference in the outcome of the game, I'll sometimes turn it off.

                    If it's a bug and the damage is minor, I'll let it go. Until the lucky batter steps up to the plate again. Then I'll imagine he's the developer who let that bug slip in, and bean him so hard both his parents will feel it.

                    Some bugs are pretty entertaining, though. Playing RTTS in MLB 10, I made sure to save a video of Michael Bourn trying to run through the corner of the bullpen in left center at PNC Park, while the ball just sits in play and the batter comes all the way home. It's still fun to watch.

                      I've done it before. Usually I'm in a bad, cynical mood or something.

                      One thing I must admit to doing is if I make a baserunning mistake, sometimes I'll pause mid-play to switch to the other team and won't make the throw back to the bag for the easy out (make sure I retreat with my runner beforehand... I don't like him get the extra base ).

                      Needless to say, I just turned my baserunning to Auto. I've been giving away wayyyy too many runs/baserunners by making absolutely stupid decisions. Another thing I did starting this year was turn sliding decisions to Auto. Sliding into home plate specifically, I always seemed to slide CLOSER to the tag then further from it. Plus, you can't tell how the catcher is setting up because the camera doesn't pan out that way so instead of just guessing, I'll let the CPU make the best decision for me. It does take out a little bit of the fun of choosing my own slides, but it's been worth it for me.

                        I just had a game that caused me to restart last night. I gave up 7 runs in the first inning and ended up quitting before finishing the inning. It wasn't the fact that I gave up runs, nor was it the fact that I had three errors, nor the fact that I had two balls skip right over my third and first baseman, nor was it the fact that a line drive went right through my left fielder, nor was it the fact that I threw to the cut off man, but he wouldn't throw home or even move where I told him to instead choosing to give control over to the CPU, nor was it the fact that my third baseman did the tag animation where he holds the ball but never tags the runner despite having a ton of time, nor was it a combination of all of this happening in one inning. The reason I quit was I realized I had started the game with a lineup I wanted to be different. So I restarted the game and lost anyway, but without all those crazy things and allowing all of those players I wanted to start to get 0-4 nights.

                          I usually don't quit, but sometimes I'll switch control to the other team and change the outcome. For instance, I've stopped a CPU player from scoring when my outfielder gets stuck in an animation that keeps him from making a throw. Most of the time I just play through things though, because weird things happen in real games all the time too.

                            I never even considered doing the switch team thing. I was playing a game late just the other night, and got to the ninth and needed a run to tie. Managed to advance Juan Pierre to third on a flyball. After the slide, I'm trying to speed up the game--I needed to finish and get to bed--so I press X, to advance to the next batter. But, I still had control of Pierre and he takes off toward home and gets is a rundown.

                            Went on to play out the inning and lose, but the switch trick would have allowed me to get back to the bag safely.

                              very true and good point. You cheer when the CPU glitches out but get frustrated when you do. I can let a couple slide and make up excuses for the misplays but having it all in one game would piss me off as well.

                              What I dont like is the non-errors calls and incorrect earned runs from a bad glitch which sort-of messes up your stats. Over a 162 game span it shouldnt hurt much so just learn to move on.
