Really excited to try this... I have a lot of trouble picking up change-ups, curve balls (can't judge the break... some are nothing special, some drop feet at a time) and outside pitches can look really good. Will post results.

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
One last bump for people who might not have seen this yet.
Being able to read pitches in this game has always been a major gripe of mine. This inside offset view with the new custom cameras in this year's version not only eliminate that gripe, but also add a sense of realism not yet seen before in a baseball game...
Not tooting my own horn here, because offset to the inside has been done before... But the fact that you can fine tune it with a custom camera makes a significant difference. Give it a shot if you haven't done so already.

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
Well... I tried it last night, got my AA RTTS player hitting .390 (up from .330) and I actually drew a walk. I. Never. Walk. There have been at-bats where I wasn't thrown a strike in six pitches and I swung at them all because they all looked good.
So that was great... I also tatoo'ed a hanging slider and a high change-up for HR's and my dude has zero power right now.
BUT... It gave me the bug. I immediately got jazzed about the dingers and completely abandoned my discipline... I am almost always guessing fastball so I can prepare for the speed, but I found myself guessing slider and curve and then swinging when I was right, no matter where it was. As a result, I've slumped big time, down around .315 or so.
The camera is great, I just need to rediscover my plate discipline and I'll be back up to high .300's again. Hard to do though when you finally blast a change-up that you've been swinging and missing on for years.Comment

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
I made an effort to regain my discipline, but the last few games I've been up over 30 chased pitches. Overanxious again...

One thing I've done though, is raise Human Foul Frequency... So at least I'm not striking out as much, as I can foul off some of the pitches just outside the zone...
Still trying to find a good balance with the sliders overall though... With this new view.

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
Part of my problem is that (I believe) AA pitching kinda sucks... LOTS of first pitch right-down-broadway fastballs. I usually try to take a strike... but if there are runners on it kills me to see a meatball fly by because of my hard-fast rule... even though it's a good one. I completely threw it out last night and I need to get back to it.I made an effort to regain my discipline, but the last few games I've been up over 30 chased pitches. Overanxious again...

Big fan of this cam tweak--replicates the old MVP05 camera.
The wide/offset cam is a pretty good one too.
Only downside is you have to be super disciplined on change ups low--they look great and are un-hittable.Christian McLeod--EA Sports NBA Live/Madden NFL Producer

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
Is there a compatible view for online play? I batting as a team .169 in the mist of 8 game losing streak..Comment

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
Was it MVP 05? Thought I'd seen it before, just didn't know where.
A good off speed pitch down low is tough. The only real way to hit a pitcher's pitch like that is to pick up on a pitcher's rhythm... No view really helps... And if you do, it's oh so sweet.

This has been the greatest improvement to my Show experience, much thanks for the custom cam tips. It has definitely helped my batting.Comment

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
great tip for the camera adjustments. the game seems like it has opened up alot.
the AI pitch counts has shot up alot also. Now The quality at bats feel like quality at bats. the pitcher/batter duels finally feel natural. My strike outs have dropped, but I still strike out but they dont feel like Im guessing most of the time. Also walks have increased.
very nice!!!!Comment

I second this. I still strike out some but am able to put up more runs and put up some better offensive numbers.great tip for the camera adjustments. the game seems like it has opened up alot.

Re: A nice little adjustment: hitting camera offset to the inside...
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone in this thread. The inside offset view is awesome, and really needs to be added as a choice for online play. Like others, I started with a default view, then angled it inside, zoomed to where I see most of the player (less part of the back foot and sometimes part of the bat) and just barely see all of the plate.
My RTTS 3B had 1 BB in about 90 AB, since then, I've drawn 3 in about 30 AB. Yeah, I still swing at some junk, but way less now. On top of that, the Righty v Righty & Lefty v Lefty matchups make a decent difference, especially the sidearm / submariners.
Probably like a few others, I felt odd about making my camera offset, and then to the inside?!?! Right?!?! Sounds odd, but damn does it do wonders and make the game feel more authentic as well.
I vote to sticky! Thanks for making the game better!Comment

So funny that you mention this... I just tried this for the first time yesterday!
I come to the forums...lo and behold, great minds think alike.
After all, this is the view that the umpire uses when he calls pitches, so it's only logical.Comment

Highly recommended.
