How to delete lastest patch? It has messed up fastball timing with analog badly
I've played a few games since downloading the pitch and hitting with analog is totally off now. I can even lower pitch speed to 3 and still be late on almost every fastball. Never had this issue untill the patch Can't stand the way the game plays now. Its comical how bad they messed the fastball timing up.Tags: None -

You can delete game data then reinstall the original version (ie: with NO patches). There's no way to rollback to an earlier patch though at this point.
Also I really don't think the patch has anything to do with your troubles. -

most certainly does! Ive played over 100 games before patch, I can tell and so can others read patch impressions, but thanks for info.Comment

This is interesting because one of the things on the "Fix List" that Russell posted was "Analog hitting has been made easier"...
I don't use it so I can't say for certain either way.
As Bobhead mentioned, you can go ahead and delete the game data information and you will be reverted back to the original version. You will likely have problems with your current saved games though as they require 1.15 or later.
No chance you are dealing with input lag on your TV? I know that has nothing to do with the game patch, but I'm just throwing ideas out there.Comment

Re: How to delete lastest patch? It has messed up fastball timing with analog badly
I agree that SOMETHING must have happened in the background to the analog controls. I really liked them pre-patch, but now everything seems to be a mess. when pitching I can rarely hit (or come close) my spots, and I am getting torched by guys that should not be doing that much damage on the reg.
and my hitting is so out of whack, I really am considering going back to zones and buttons. the ridiculous amount of perfect swings with little to no contact is driving me up a wall. and again, I am well aware that this is baseball and getting 10+ hits a game is unrealistic and silly...I am referring to an example such as: Ryan Howard up with a 3-1 count and the bases chucked so this next pitch is coming in the zone somewhere. I don't use guess pitch, but in my head all I am looking for is a heater middle in. sure enough, it comes in Howie unloads...........
swing and a miss. huh? must've been off somehow. click the analog button to pull up the last swing info: 4sm - 91mph - RIGHT DOWN BROADWAY - missed - PERFECT timing...ummmm tiny little contact circle that is out of the zone?!?
okay it happens, but I am getting situations like this all the stinking time now! so I guess I WAS better than average joe gamer, and now that the patch "made analog hitting easier" I am in the bracket of those that can't hit anymore.

Re: How to delete lastest patch? It has messed up fastball timing with analog badly
I hate to blame things on patches or the game but I have struggled mightily since the patch. I don't know if I just lost my mojo or what but it's been a struggle since the patch. I think I've figured the pitching out but I struggle and I mean STRUGGLE to score runs. I get realistic hit stats but I just can't score. The CPU seems to get an endless supply of taylor made double play balls. I could understand that if i wasn't patient at the plate but even when i get the pitch I want up in the zone all I do is beat the ball in to the ground for an easy double play.

Re: How to delete lastest patch? It has messed up fastball timing with analog badly
I haven't noticed anything since the patch, but I will agree that analog hitting timing seems off. I switched to zone hitting and stuck with analog pitching and have no issues and I am enjoying the game again. I took over one thousand at-bats with analog hitting and never was able to generate any consistency. It's worth the switch to zone.NHL, Madden, The Show, and a big Minnesota sports fan.Comment

I'm about to give up on Analog hitting in general... I thought I would like it since it would make check-swinging easier, feel more real. But I can't really tell when I'm getting full power on a swing or not. And I'm always way late or way early it seems.Comment

This doesn't happen in analog hitting. The only way to swing harder is to hit square to activate power swing. It's not the same mechanic as analog pitching.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Right... But in analog you have to pull the stick back and then push forward... To get full power (on either a contact or power swing) you need to pull back and go forward in nearly one continuous motion.... Right? It's not like you can pull back when the pitcher starts his wind-up, wait a second then push forward. You'd hit a dribbled. Or thats been my experience.Comment

Timing your stride wrong effects your contact rating, not your power. That's why you're hitting dribblers in those situations where you stride way before the pitch.Right... Still, either way, if you can't get the timing down then your original point remains. If you can't get the hang of it, then abandoning it might be a wise choice.Last edited by Mabster; 05-19-2011, 05:22 PM.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks
