I haven't had any issues with analog hitting, before or after the patch. If anything, it has made hitting easier (more forgiving) since the update.

The patch didn't mess with analog hitting at all. Aside from being a tad easier, it's practically identical to what it was pre-patch.

For the record, I have not had any issues with analog hitting after the patch. IIRC, the patch notes say they increased the timing window with analog hitting which would make it easier.

I noticed this as well, with the new patch and it has caused me to switch over from analog to zone hitting ( and I had been using analog hitting since the game came out. )


I was just starting to become a very good hitter, and then this patch ruins the timing against the 4 seam fastball.





If you guys go into practice and pick a pitcher who has a 4 seamer and a 2 seamer you will see that the timing is completely different even though the pitchers are 4 mph different.

I choose David Wright vs Oliver Perez using the default rosters at the practice field.


When Oliver threw his 4 seam fastball about 90-92 mph I would be late on it, hit it to right field or miss it or foul it off.


When he threw his 2 seam fastball 85-88 mph, I would pretty much time it the same way and be early on it and pull it to left field or hit it foul to left field.


It seems like swinging on a 4 seam fastball is alot less responsive and alot slower now.



Everything else about this patch is good ( I like that they fixed the knuckleball and some of the stuttering. ) but they're is either a badly designed change on the 4seam fastball timing or a glitch going on.



Switching to zone hitting the problem seemed to go.

I dont notice much of a difference except maybe fastballs are harder to get to which is kind of annoying, and at all times demo,before patch and after the check swings are brutal and hard to come by

I was able to pull the ball on a 4 seam fastball consistently pre patch, now I can hardly do it if I'm trying to do it.




Go into practice mode and vs a guy who has a 4 seam and a 2 seam fastball, see which one you have an easier time pulling to left field vs being late and pushing to right field even though the speed differential is probably 2-5 mph.

This has really bothered me as well. I'm at the point where I just sit on off speed pitches now and react to fastballs. Even when you sit on a 92 mph fastball, you end up hitting it oppo. It is pretty ridiculous. I love analog hitting, but they really need to fix the 4 sm fastball timing. I can't find myself going back to the buttons hitting, I love the feel of timing my swing with the analog stick. I hope they fix this if they come out with a new patch.

I haven't had a problem with this at all, unless the guy is throwing straight gas (97MPH+), in fact I pull a lot of fastballs still with default sliders. If you guys are having that many problems then maybe switching to zone or timing will be your solution?

I'm thinking of moving up a difficulty level. I was 23-25 prior to the patch and now I'm 42-28. I changed nothing else. That means I've gone 19-3 since the patch...

Having said that, I don't use analog hitting or pitching.

Just because you started having problems around the time the patch came out doesn't mean the patch was the cause. I'm sure there are some users who are hitting more home runs since the patch, some who are hitting fewer. It rained in Florida the day the patch came out, did the devs cause that too? I doubt it. Don't be so quick to point fingers elsewhere, and try practicing some more.

Its definatly messed up for analog hitting. I can no longer get around on 4 seamers as well. On defaullt pitch speed you have to get your swing started right as the ball is released . There is no way to recognize and react to pitches cause you have to get geared up for fastballs.

Ive moved pitch speed to 0 and it still doesnt help. Ive played 30 plus games post patch and that is plenty of a sample size to see somthing is wrong. I pretty much noticed it right away but thought "naw, analog hitting was supposed to have been made easier" . Absolutly the opposite.
