    Catch Region/Position Indicators On/Off

First off, I am posting this from my phone using the OS Mobile function so I have no way of searching to see if a thread already discusses this.

In order to make fielding a much more challenging and less repetitive activity, I've been fiddling with these two settings. Now I've read that removing the region indicator eliminates a suction/quicksand problem I have yet to encounter(been playing The Show since 10). I just wish to improve my fielding experience.

Initially, I had the region indicator off but the position indicator on. Only thing I may have noticed was that a deep fly ball seemed to be more difficult to catch with a less than stellar outfielder. I'm used to seeing the same over the shoulder catch on the run animation. I don't have enough hours played on 11 to confirm that the reason this happens is because of the lack of the region indicator.

I then switch the two settings to position off and region on.

EDIT: Whoops, hit submit on accident. I'll continue in another post.

    Re: Catch Region/Position Indicators On/Off

When I had region off and position on, I also noticed more infield ground balls getting past the infielders, both for me as well as the AI. Again, don't know if this is just how 11 plays or because switching the settings somehow altered fielding as a whole. Any input on this would be appreciated. Also, do players with better fielding ratings have a smaller position indicator than average/below average outfielders?

Now I play a game with region on and position off. Fly balls weren't a problem as I was able to use the shadow to judge where I would stand, also the tagup indicator served as a cheat a few times. A question I have regarding this setting is when they hit those line shots, how would you know when to dive?

Final question, for those of you that actually change these settings, what do YOU use and why?

    Thanks.

Personally I can't tell you how things change because I only use region indicator on & position indicator off. My reasoning is, I don't want the game to tell me exactly where the ball will land because that takes the "manual" aspect of the fielding away from me. However I feel that region indicator will not do that.

I too try to track the ball by it's shadow. However that only works in day games.

Do you think you'd be able to make a diving catch with that setting?

What about foul ball pop ups behind the catcher that you have to chase down, how do you know when it's gonna drop?

Truth is, I don't remember ever diving to make a catch. I think I may have tried in years past but I am not sure.

As far as the foul balls, it's kinda hit or miss. I go where I think it's going to land. Sometimes I am wrong & the ball drops.
