One thing I'm interested in knowing is how I should judge the scouting reports on player cards and when scouting for the draft.
A lot of times you have all these negative comments from the "scout", but if the guy has high potential he'll tell you he could be a future superstar. It just seems strange to me, I guess.
Also judging the letter grades; say if I have a 27 year old player that's pretty much F's in every area but an A in potential, should I cut ties with him thinking he'll never reach his true potential because he's already 27, or is there still a real possibility of this guy becoming a good player?
But to the original point of this thread, I think there are things that could use better explaining, especially with myself being a noob to baseball, but I like the fact that there are things I can find out and discover months after playing the game. It kinda keeps things fresh in a way.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

The negative comments relate to how he rates as compared to MLB players...if you tried to play him in the MLB at this time....it then tells you how he should pan out(potential wise).
I hear you.....while I like that(the MLB comparison)...it should state that and then give you his skills compared to other minor league players.
I really hope they change the entire thing though.

I would like to preface this by saying I really feel that the MLB The Show series really is the model by which all sim sports games should strive to be like.
The attention to every detail, the gameplay, controls, the options, online support, the graphics, the support by the dev team, just about everything is something all other developers should model themselves after.
However, as I get older, I am finding the game more and more daunting each year. This falls squarely on my shoulders. It just seems that I always feel like I am forgetting, not knowing, or not using something to its full potential in the game.
This is the first year I have actually "dumbed down" the game to tailor to my needs, and just have fun playing the gme when I get a moment from work, family, friends, etc.
So while I applaud SCEA/San Diego Studios for putting out such an amazing piece of work with MLB The Show year in and year out, ans all the support they give it. I wll admit, I do find the game a bit daunting. However, that doesn't mean I don't play it every chance I get. Keep up the good work guys.Comment

I love the depth and really wouldn't want it any other way.
Playing multiple years of my franchise in MLB 09' actually allowed me to understand the rules and what not of MLB FA and the off-season, which to me is a good thing.
Before playing I didn't know the definition of a "Super 2" or the effect service time had and I'd been a baseball fan all my life. That to me is a great thing. I was able to use the in-game help screens and explanations to figure it out.
My only complaint would be that these things always don't work as they should (for ex. the CPU trade, signing logic).
I wouldn't let the "depth" bug you too much.....especially the example you gave. I don't think cutting F potential guys is a big deal, even if they could theoretically improve. Chances are most will never be "stars". You have limited roster space, so it makes sense to cut those guys unless you need them for depth.
Or you could do as I do.....I base most of my MILB moves on production.
Like in real life - I'll give the B and A guys the benefit of the doubt or give them more opportunities to perform......but if I had an F guy that outperforms a C prospect, I'd re-sign the F.Comment

SCEA is by far superior to any other group that makes video games. Thanks to Russ, Kolbe and any other person apart of it as well. Keep up the good work.Chicago Cubs - Chicago Bears - Milwaukee Bucks
