There's no fun in using RA as if he is Tim Wakefield. These guys have a valid question that they can't address themselves. I'm sure this is something that needs to be patched in, if it's possible at all.

I don't even think it needs a patch...just a roster update.
Too bad I can't import a fixed R.A. into the roster I want to use though.

I don't think it's as simple as a roster update. I know the change was made at CD. There may be a restriction in place no matter the max speed value being indicated in the roster that is superseding the rating.

We can't know for sure unless we are back in SD.

I too am quite disappointed by this. I remember reading Knight's post in the beginning of this thread a while back and I was pretty pumped to hear he talked to scea about it, and it sounded like it would be fixed. It was pretty disappointing when I threw the first knuckler at 68, just like last year.

I don't understand why it's a problem honestly. If there are limitations that can't be changed within the game for a standard knuckleball, I don't see why they can't create a pitch specifically for Dickey - like they did with Dice-K's Gyro ball in 2007. That pitch was one that only Dice-K had, and it was something you couldn't give a created player. An example in these newer games is Dillon Gee's Vulcan Change - something only he and a few other pitchers have that you can't give a created player.

Why can't there be a Fast Knuckle Ball (FKB) or a Dickey Knuckle Ball (DKB) that only he has? Seems weird to me they haven't corrected this yet.

I agree I think I remember asking this before the game came out and a guy who played it at the community event said they fixed it.

I'm guessing maybe their was a glitch or they forgot to save the fix but imo if it works they should put it in the game. R.A. Dickey is a very unique pitcher and the game does not show this, it's a huge difference as it's 20+ mph.

Also he has the ability to throw a fast and a slow knuckleball and I think this is something that should be put into the game as well. If his knuckleball in itself goes 78-83 mph just about every pitch I think it's not going to be as good as it should be either, they need to have the fast knuckle ball and the slow knuckle ball either be a separate pitch or have the pitch speed vary a ton by how much you try to put on the ball with analog, classic or meter pitching.


Also I think the knuckleball in of itself is glitched, I don't remember trying to hit it this year but I think last year the knuckleball was glitched in that if you looked at the previous pitch on swing info the knuckleball was usually at the release point instead of where the pitch actually landed.

I hate the knuckleball. If I had someone in my franchise that threw one, I would trade or release them before doing anything else.

Maybe the new patch might fix it, and they felt it was minor or forgot to put it on the update list.

No, but I can point you to the exchange Knight and I had where it discussed the cause. It was directly before your post if you glossed over it. Considering I spent 20 mins of my life having this looked at, I'm confident in what was posted.

So please - unless you want to start a pointless back and forth, let's move on. When someone has anything to post in terms of an update, they will.

But....word of warning, I don't think you can go back into the editor and change his speed for the knuckle ball....or it will reset.
It's a SCEA change only.(they are overriding the limit in the editor for knuckleballs)
They did it for us at community day and it looked perfect.

There is no reason for them to have any sort of lock like that. If its an edit we have to wait for them to make, we should have the option to do it ourselves.

Of course there is a reason - people will give themselves 95 MPH Knuckleballs. Not only that, the game will auto-generate players with a 3rd pitch Knuckleball that fast.

Dickey is an aberration. There are plenty of games that have to account for unique individuals in the sports realm. This is just one of those times.
