Well it isn't an over the top great talent, but it isn't bottom of the barrel either. I have had both of them before and just couldn't make a emotional connection with any of them.

This one however i just have that connection too. Maybe it was the simple fact that i wasn't pressing to try and get a certain player or whatever. I'm really happy with this team and am looking forward to seeing how far i can go with them.

Well after that draft which gave me a great all over defense (ranked #1 overall) I just gave up on it after a short time. i think it was the pitching that got me down.

Since then i have done a few more and gotten no where with any of them. I will be doing one more to see how i do. This time I will be focusing on pitching in the first six rounds or so.

I have been trying to go "round robin" by going through each position from starting pitching to right field and back around. It hasn''t seemed to work. So Knowing that pitching and defense win games, i feel i can have a fair offense if i can get the pitching to go with it. so one more try before i give it up lol...

will post team as soon as it is done... or i find a mix that i like lol..

                                Re: Fantasy Draft Season Progress

Well i must say that after many (and i do mean MANY) attempts at drafting a team that felt good, I have finally gotten a group of players together that can bring a team a chance at winning.

I took a small group of teams in each league and had my own little private vote on what team to use. I put all teams into a bowl and shook it up like a good bartender does and came up with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

I then decided as I'm setting things up that we didn't need a budgetary limit on spending. So i got rid of the "salary cap" and i also decided that since we just had some major changes in the CBA in real life, i decided to put DH in both leagues...

I started out with my pitching staff first with my first five picks going for four staters and a closer. then i went outfield then 3rd to first and catcher. once i had my top two players at each position i then gave the computer the task of filling out the rest of my rosters.

Oh I Drafted 26th in the first round, and every other round there after.

I played my first game in Franchise and lost to the Cubs 4-2. I'm using Gsize19's Sim for Franchise sliders off of sportsconnect. I have to say they do play well very well in fact.

I have tried several sets over my time trying to find a draft team and this one is far and above to me and for my use a great set. the homer's i gave up didn't feel cheap or anything.

So after all this i think this finally IT!!! I have found the team, the players, and the sliders which will allow me to continue this franchise for a while... well at least until 12 comes out lol..
