It is on their list, they hear the community.
But we will not know anything about '12 till the end of the year when Ramone posts information.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami Dolphins -
Re: continue franchise for mlb 12
if this were a PC series we could probably say that yes we will see it. However, this ISN'T a pc game it IS a console game. why not just kee your previous copy and continue your franchise within the original game itself."Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

Re: continue franchise for mlb 12
I'm in the middle of the my first franchise where I actually have played more than 30+ games in the series. I have never played more than 15+ in a franchise before.
I hope they can include this feature.Comment

Re: continue franchise for mlb 12
I would love it...
However, that being said.....with the changes to the player files from year to year(even a little thing like a new addition to equipment or a change in the file for a players eyes of face color) would wreak havoc on the option. I'm sure it would cause crashes and glitches galore.
It's got to be a ton of trouble as we've been asking about this for quite some time and I've spoken to Kolbe about it personally. He's a pretty straightforward guy and while he realizes why we want this, he seemed to think it's highly unlikely to get implemented.

Re: continue franchise for mlb 12
Yeah, I think the way this would have to work is that they'd have to hold off on improving franchise for that year.
I'm not so sure if it would really break anything, but if they ever included something like who the MVP's were in the previous seasons, that stuff wouldn't be stored into memory for the year that it didn't have this feature.
I hope there's a way they can figure it out, though. It definitely would give people a reason to keep buying the new games, if they know they can just continue on their old franchise with them. Re: continue franchise for mlb 12
I doubt this could ever happen on a console......you would also have to sacrifice new players in the next years game, picture updates, delivery and stance updates, equipment updates, etc.
It would be cool......but I bet it's next to impossible
The guys who only get to play 50 games or less per .....you realize it would take 3or 4 releases of The Show for you to actually play a full season? That's ridiculous if you start a franchise w/ say Boston and Tim Wakefield retires after this year - yet you would still be using him in MLB '15 The Show just to finish the 2011 season. Never mind how many players would come into the game that yoiu wouldn't be able to use. Nevermind that a player could have a breakout 2013 and oyu would still be using him as a scrub from 2011.
Making games is hard enough - this would cause so many glitches and bugs......the outcry over the bugs/glitches would far outwiegh the positives of doing this.Comment

Re: continue franchise for mlb 12
I don't know about you, but I normally play one game a series, or a home stand or something. I can finish multiple seasons in one calendar year. I would like to continue that franchise as I go, though. It's almost not worth doing it when you know you're going to have to start a new one the next season, anyway.
There would be so many bugs/glitches from this - it would be suciide from a development standpoint
This is also the reason that they allow you to play shortened season lengths and/or simulate - so people who can't sit and play all those games can do franchise.Last edited by TNKNGM; 08-29-2011, 08:01 AM.Comment

Re: continue franchise for mlb 12
I get that you want to start MLB12 with your MLB11 Franchise, but why do people sim through a season? Why not play the season you are already on?
What are the benefits of simming through one or two seasons?Comment
