"Undaunted, I knew the game was mine to win. Just like in life, ALL of my successes depend on me. I'm the man who has the ball, I'm the man who can throw it faster than heck. So that is why I am better than everyone in the world."

Re: Help me out?
Part of the reasoning was that I had been to Seattle on vacation a couple of years ago and caught a game at Safeco, but the other was that I liked the build of the team; a few stud players, lot of good minor league talent and veterans that had short-term contracts, making for good trade bait.
I played about 100 games and finished 71-91, good for last place in the AL West after a promising first half. It was an absolute blast, and now I'm entering Year 2 having just acquired Jose Bautista in free agency.
I think switching leagues or divisions up is helpful, as is finding a stadium that you want to spend a lot of time in.Currently Playing:

Re: Help me out?
The stadium is important because you play 81 game there. Add your own music too, as it makes it feel like home. Get a team that you enjoy from top to bottom or do a fantasy draft.EPL - Arsenal
MLB - Seattle Mariners
NBA - Cleveland Cavaliers
NFL - Philadelphia Eagles
MLS - Seattle Sounders

Funny you should mention Seattle, Enigma. I felt like I needed to start fresh this year, as I had put in a lot of time to the New York Mets and Colorado Rockies (two favorite teams) franchises in MLB 10, so I went with Seattle.

And as with you, I like the decent build of the team and farm system without being overpowering within the game. Much the same with Florida. You got that one stud picture you look forward to using on each team every 5th day, while doing a lot of tip toeing with the rest of the staff. And playing more of a small ball like approach when hitting.Last edited by EnigmaNemesis; 09-10-2011, 01:01 AM.Ⓥ Boston Red Sox | Miami DolphinsComment

Re: Help me out?
You know, me choosing Seattle was the exact reason you did. Went on vacation there two years ago for my girlfriend at the time, sister's wedding. While I did not get a chance to catch a game (they were playing at home against Baltimore, so I should have went) I fell in love with the city, and saw the stadium when I drove by next to it on my way to Pike Place Market.

Playing with a team that I am not pulling for or follow in real life has really helped me really enjoy and get involved in the franchise. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

That's funny that so many of us do the same things. I went on vacation with my girlfriend to Akron Ohio. We went to an Indians game and I just fell in love with the stadium and the town. So as soon as I got home I started a franchise with the Indians and I have been having a blast.
