Re: MLB 12 The Show Custom Cover Thread
Always Remember when making a cover try to find larger sized images they are easier to work with and they look better.

Re: MLB 12 The Show Custom Cover Thread
I'm sorry but these look like they took you 5 minutes to throw together. To be generous, I'm using the term "throw" loosely. Make an effort and take your time to make them look better. Mentioned Sports Cover World to another beginner cover maker and it's already helped him out. Sign up and check out this link:

Re: MLB 12 The Show Custom Cover Thread
I love this one of C-Grand. I usually prefer the home pinstripes on my Yankees' cover pics but since there's so much white space on the cover already, the grey road uni is probably a better choice. That's the guy I wanted for my cover this year, thanks Ronstr!"There are only two seasons—winter and baseball." - Bill VeeckComment

Re: MLB 12 The Show Custom Cover Thread
Okay guys, I think I've got a pretty good template here for anyone who wants it.
Photoshop Template:
All logos are optional and separate, MLB Show Logo and #1 sports franchise is separate, the baseball seams are optional, and it has both styles of PS3 top box art (With Move bubble and without).
Hope these help someone make some good covers. I will try to fill some requests , but I'm not to good with that.

It's called constructive criticism and the "other forum" happens to deal with custom covers and is a good resource if you're starting out.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show Custom Cover Thread
Whatever man. Just trying to help out people who look like they threw a cover together in 5 minutes. You could use the help as well btw. I'm not going to be one of those people who say that a cover looks good when obviously it looks bad. I'm going to tell you like it is and if you don't like the "constructive criticism", so be it.Comment

He said he spent 20 minutes on the covers he's done and I think they look pretty good. So, obviously he didn't throw them together in 5 minutes. It's just junk when someone gives their time for others and they end up getting ripped for it.
Here's some constructive criticism - you make great covers; I've seen them, but you could use some work in practicing good tact and being respectful with people.

Telling like it is does not equate with constructive criticism. On the other hand, I agree: blowing sunshine up someone's hind end is not constructive criticism. either.

That's certainly criticism, but there's nothing constructive about it. Now, had you actually identified specific things to work on, sharpen or modify - things that, you know, would actually help - then that would be criticism that is constructive.
"That sucks." = Not contstructive criticism.
"You can fix this by blending the layers a little bit and cleaning up around the edges of the main image using the background eraser or magnetic lasso tool." = Constructive criticism.
Actually, now that I think about, this post = constructive criticism.Comment

I think you're conused as to the actual definition of constructive criticism.
