The Tigers released a picture/design of their new HD scoreboard that they are putting it over their old one. Will this be in the game, or are the guys just finding this out like everybody is.

Actually, I'm not too sure how I feel about the new design. Too many distracting ads, IMO. And they took away the clock and block letter "TIGERS"... hopefully this artist rendering is not coming across well.
Spoiler
Here are some pics of the progress at CoPa. Also, some interesting pics of the Tigers that were on top of the scorebaord. They took them down and had them sitting on the I-275 service drive for a few days. I think they are in Connecticut now being 'spiffied' up. You can get an idea of just how large they are... just imagine riding down the highway and seeing that in your rearview! LOL

Re: Stadium upgrades for MLB 12
I've never seen that "Tigers" script before. What they're doing to that scoreboard is terrible. Besides the vast outfield (which itself was reduced early last decade), the scoreboard was a signature of the ballpark. Hopefully that rendering is just a ten minute Photoshop job, because that looks horrible.Rangers - Cowboys - Aggies - Stars - Mavericks

Re: Stadium upgrades for MLB 12
This stuff is getting to me. Last night I had a bad dream where Busch Stadium was ruined instead of improved. It can't exactly describe it, but that dream made me feel miserable. That railing above the scoreboard, instead of changing it's color to black, they removed it. The clock, the neon birds, everything. There were lots of other things that ruined it, I just can't remember.
I guess this is to tell me, even though not all the changes I want are in the game, it could be a lot worse.Comment

Re: Stadium upgrades for MLB 12
The scoreboard is far from a signature of the park, especially not in Detroit. It's just a scoreboard, nothing amazing, nothing bad, just a scoreboard. They are not doing ruining any sentimental memories by changing it, very few people liked it in the first place.
People have done nothing but complain about how ugly the scoreboard is since the park opened, so I don't make much of this "not looking good" stuff. The ads are huge like they used to be, but it never bothered me before.
Still, adding an HD video screen is awesome. I've been to Turner Field and it's awesome. Not many things could make me enjoy Comerica anymore than I already do, but this is one. It will be very cool and it is already made a lot of fans show excitement.
I mean they could have a huge, ugly, dry erase board in LF to keep my score, but as long as the skyline is still standing overlooking the park, it will always be a great place to be.
Overall it just makes it an even better place to catch a game.JayElectronicaBluElzhi2PacTheNotoriousB.I.G.ReksSc arfaceFashawnJeruThaDamajaComment

Re: Stadium upgrades for MLB 12
Definitely needs less ads, particularly the 2 at the top. True, there's no real sentimental attachment to that scoreboard, and I see where they are going with the cursive font up top (i.e. Phillies, Indians, etc.) - Detroit is not a cursive type of city though. As a Detroit native, I would have preferred a more 'blue collar' font... or at least the Tigers cursive font that was actually used on media and whatnot.
Like I said, it could be that the artist rendering is just not coming across very well. In that picture, they upgraded the screen (which is awesome and very much needed), but they also increased the ad space usage
I couldn't agree more with this.Last edited by thaSLAB; 02-16-2012, 04:05 PM.Comment

Re: Stadium upgrades for MLB 12
I understand the complaint about ads, but for me personally, I would never look at that scoreboard and pay any mind to the ads. If I'm sitting at a game, having a great time, totally into the game, I'm watching the game, checking stats on the scoreboard, there could be a poster of Justin Bieber and I wouldn't notice/care about it. That type of stuff doesn't bother me at a baseball game.JayElectronicaBluElzhi2PacTheNotoriousB.I.G.ReksSc arfaceFashawnJeruThaDamajaComment

Re: Stadium upgrades for MLB 12
Shame the Cubs right field wont be in the game. Will feel like a pretty big eye sore all year if it indeed is ready for the season. Looks like construction has started so it will be sad watching games on tv then playing games on the PS3 this year.
Your best source for quality Chicago Cubs news, rumors, analysis, stats and scores from the fan perspective.
Have the devs ever patched in stadium changes before?Last edited by MrOldboy; 02-16-2012, 09:51 PM.Comment

Re: Stadium upgrades for MLB 12
Other than the functional Bucco Blast counter, were any improvements made to PNC Park or the backdrop of the city of Pittsburgh? Any information would be greatly appreciatedComment

The official website of the Minnesota Twins with the most up-to-date information on news, tickets, schedule, stadium, roster, rumors, scores, and stats.
Alright just saw this a day or two ago. There isn't a thread created for Stadium upgrades for MLB 13 so I decided to post it here.
Anyway the Twins are adding some right field bleachers. It would be sweet if SCEA could get this into 13.
EDIT: For some reason the link has an error. I'm not sure how to get it working but it's right on the front page of the Twins website.NHL-Minnesota Wild

Unless a mod or dev want to create a MLB 13 thread, you should probably post the new stuff in this link.
