    Hitting .153 in RTTS

I created a LHP in MLB 10 RTTS, and since it was my first sports gaming experience I set pitching difficult to Rookie. I guess not surprisingly, it was really easy, as I was called up by the Tigers in my second season and won the AL ROY award, going 17-2 with a sub-2 ERA. I just picked up MLB 11 the other day.

Now I am playing a speedy, contact-hitting CF in RTTS, with hitting difficulty on Rookie and using Timing Hitting. I went 1-for-30 (.033) in AA ball, then somehow got called up to AAA anyway because of an injury to a starting player. I bought a few thousand training points to get my contact and other attributes up a bit, because there was no way I was ever going to get any points from games.

I am hitting .153 so far with 30 Ks in 70+ at-bats, and I am 0 for my last 28. I've also taken two basestealing training sessions (15 attempts each) and have been thrown out 30 times in 30 steal attempts, despite having 67 speed and 45 BR ABL.

Why the hell is this so hard?

I like this game because you can never quite master hitting... it's a tough thing IRL and replicated very well here in the game.

I think you just need to be patient, develop discipline, and be selective on what to hit (and not).

My suggestion for someone in your position is always to sit on a fastball down the middle. Lay off everything else. You'll eventually get a hang of it that way...

Don't worry about getting thrown out... RTTS baserunning is a bit tougher than it should be (I think). Pitchers throw fastball so you really have to have a great jump to steal successfully.

This post says it all. I consider myself THE MAN with the sticks hitting on HOF level, and even though I get mine, I have to be on it. I mean the show is the one and only game where every game I play I either jump for joy because I came out with a great win or I wanna throw controllers and kick midgets because I failed int he clutch against the CPU. Game is scary good at mimicking real life baseball. I feel the same way playing the show as I do watching my beloved Texas Rangers! LMAO Every game I play feels like game 6 all over again which is hazardous to my health
