Re: Any talk of a one pitch mode to play games faster?

I've been waiting for generated pitch counts in the Show. Sorry to hear its not going to be in 2012. I can work a pitch count for a few innings, but then I get impatient as the game is dragging on. If I play more than one game in a sitting, I'm definitely swinging a ton early in the count to speed things along. A generated pitch count would be the perfect solution. Also, it would help those of us who are terrible at judging balls/strikes to get a few walks and get more realistic pitch counts. Hopefully, generated pitch counts would factor in the pitchers control statistics and the batters eye/walk statistics to generate the counts.

Hopefully this makes it into 2013!

Yeah I can see why some would want the game to go by faster! but to me its not baseball. you can always fast forward it to say 7-8 inning and finish if your in a big hurry!

It's called "Use the strike frequency slider to generate more strikes and less pitches per game" option.

        There. End of discussion.

Not that I would be an avid user of generated pitch counts anyway, but while the suggested workarounds might be applicable to some people, it's still technically not the same. Observe...

I'm sure that most people would prefer to have user control for their entire game. Of course, they aren't in control of the generated count, but I simply mean the "end result."

Plus, I know that some people are just interested in moments where the most action happens. They might not like working the count themselves, but they like the fact that the count still gets worked.

Again, people might prefer a worked count. They still want to see the walks and strikeouts, and get the pitcher to tire on their own accord (not just lowering a slider). I know that if this was my preferred method of play, this would certainly not be my workaround.

This is the best "fix" in terms of having a reduced time of playing a game which you're in complete control in and don't have to resort to game-affecting changes. Though for some presentation junkies, this will be a massive issue. And most people who probably use this mode aren't that capable of working counts or don't want to get into it. They just want to be able to get the same kinds of stats while being the last determiner of how the player finishes off the at-bat.

I think SCEA would want to make sure this thing is done right, anyway. Generated pitch counts aren't as simple as just randomizing a count for a batter. I could get into it more, but you know what that would mean if I do.
