Re: MLB 12 The Show Screenshots - Your New Default Camera View and Other Tidbits
What is so similar that everybody is making a big deal about. Okay they both have the bases, 2 teams, inning, count and outs. I think which ever way they put these together they are going to look somewhat similar to previous versions because MLB 12 The Show will be their 7th game. There's not much you can do that will change it up to make it look unique when there are so many previous makes and so little information they need to put on the bar.Comment

I respectfully disagree.
It CAN look much different.
It was stated that it was an all new scorebug this yearbut looks almost exactly like one they made before.
most network bugs have rectangular offset overlays with a portion that pops out to display other info, i.e. pitch counts, pitch speed.
Those will not be a part of 12's scorebug.
Using dots for balls and strikes would be cool too.Comment

Looks good... Now all I want is some gameplay videos... Some Franchise news would be awesome aswell.Comment

The box in the lower right with the info about the previous pitch will now stay on all the time if we want?
I hope so.
I think I just about dislocated my right thumb popping the R3 button after every pitch last year.Comment

Yes they can change the overall layout of it. Either making it a box like ESPN or a bar like most of the other networks. I'm just saying that there isn't much variation when it comes to this type of thing. As I said, they've already had 7 previous versions of these same components(outs, count, bases, inning, score, teams). Of course they can go to the box but I think that will take up too much space and you won't be able to see one section of the stadium when hitting. As opposed to the bar where only the top is blocked. I think the bar is better IMO.
I hear that.
I like seeing the beautiful skies and outfield art.
I loved when madden had the scorebug on the bottom so I can see the skies!
my whole issue was Russie said this...
The score bar, pitch info, and swing info box is completely redesigned new art.
Completely redesigned would have me thinking COMPLETELY REDESIGNED.
I was expecting a TV look based on the main focus being True Broadcast Style.
To me its just same ol same ol. visually.
tis' all good. your points are fair.
As i said earlier, strike one on the overlay design.
lets see how many stat overlays there are and if the franchise menu/ui has been overhauled [bye bye newspapers, hello headline page?]
if not, I am out again this year.Last edited by econoodle; 12-31-2011, 12:59 AM.Comment

To be honest, with the mention of the new 'True Broadcast Style', I never thought about the score bar being redesigned. I'm more hoping to see a lot more usage of the RTP and getting rid of a lot of the cut scenes.

gets what?
people are discussing the game.
knock it off with the smarmy comments.

i really hope cut scenes got the way of the dodo as well! long overdue and RTP has been ignored mostly since it was introduced.Last edited by econoodle; 12-31-2011, 01:34 AM.Comment

Pretty disappointed to say the least. A previous member said that the scoreboard overlay looks similar to The Show 09... IT DOES! I just don't get it SCEA? I love the idea of a broadcast network by O.S. members, but always get's shut-down by SCEA and other people. I understand that would be a lot of work and would not expect that for this year, but at least THINK ABOUT the idea!
Plus it would be nice have a special presentation for winning the WORLD SERIES! I mean lets go SCEA you have had the same presentation for years. I think you can switch it up now... It doesn't even feel rewarding winning the World Series.
Honestly there is a bunch of things in The Show that are AMAZING, but there are also a fair amount of things that need MAJOR IMPROVEMENT! It would be nice to see that improvement in areas such as; World Series Presentation, Franchise Logic, A.I. Strategy and Logic, Manager Arguments and Dynamic Weather which includes RAINOUTS and DOUBLE HEADERS! Instead of getting the typical answer from Russell... "Not this year" or "We are not implementing that until we feel we can do it right." Well last time I checked, SCEA implemented rain.. That sure was not implemented correctly (having only 1 rain game out of 162 games for the New York Yankees).Comment

Ghoste gets that "true broadcast style" has more to do with camera cuts and the canned scenes being removed than the layout of the bar.
Do yourself a favor and worry less about how and when I post than yourself.
You police yourself and I'll police myself.

Re: MLB 12 The Show Screenshots - Your New Default Camera View and Other Tidbits
something I would like, to teams should celebrate the end of the division series or World Series with the trophy in the field, not simply charge the pitcher on the shoulders. example, the presentation of players before the game, to feel the realism that we are in a World Series.
i wonder if it would be worth it for SCEA to make like 3 or 4 unique celebrations.
but then again maybe they have already, i never won the darn thing! lolComment

Re: MLB 12 The Show Screenshots - Your New Default Camera View and Other Tidbits
I peronally love the new scorebar. The scores really pop being in the teams colors, the count and outs pop in the white background and the runners on base art is way smaller and looks tight.
I do have to agree that when I heard about the True Broadcast, I was thinking more about the actual stuff in between batters. As for it being cluttered, don't all those things fall off the screen when the play is on???? Don't understand why it's such a big deal, if I want to look at the sky I will go outside.
Looks good Russell!Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show Screenshots - Your New Default Camera View and Other Tidbits
The last thing I thought of then the subject of new presentation was the actual look of the graphic supers overlay stuff. I was thinking of camera angle transitions, action zooms, and commentary being revamped. Not a spiffy new fonts and all that.
And harping on the brand being all over the place? Eh. Seems nitpicky. I admit, it breaks total immersion, but without it there'd be nothing there as there's only so many times they can use the brands they have access to or it'd be the same issue but with an actual brand going where it doesn't go at the actual stadium....and people would complain about that instead.Comment
