I like seeing the beautiful skies and outfield art.
I loved when madden had the scorebug on the bottom so I can see the skies!




my whole issue was Russie said this...

Completely redesigned would have me thinking COMPLETELY REDESIGNED.

I was expecting a TV look based on the main focus being True Broadcast Style.
To me its just same ol same ol. visually.
tis' all good. your points are fair.

As i said earlier, strike one on the overlay design.
lets see how many stat overlays there are and if the franchise menu/ui has been overhauled [bye bye newspapers, hello headline page?]
if not, I am out again this year.

It's new art, if you want to accept it or not or you have a different interpretation that's another thing. The only art in that score bar that stayed the same was the font of the text.

The last thing I thought of then the subject of new presentation was the actual look of the graphic supers overlay stuff. I was thinking of camera angle transitions, action zooms, and commentary being revamped. Not a spiffy new fonts and all that.

And harping on the brand being all over the place? Eh. Seems nitpicky. I admit, it breaks total immersion, but without it there'd be nothing there as there's only so many times they can use the brands they have access to or it'd be the same issue but with an actual brand going where it doesn't go at the actual stadium....and people would complain about that instead.

you know what i loved? the old fake ads from back in the day.
man those rocked.
on the ps2 they even had very closer replications of real life ads.
for example in yankee stadium they had a company called Horizon Wired, aka Verison Wireless, same logo design in the same area out in right field.

many are still there tucked away in the front office portion of franchise mode, but you wont see them in stadium.

Russell, for the custom hitting cameras this year will there be the ability to adjust focal point in addition to zoom? You can adjust this on instant replays but it was missing from the custom cameras last year and it's something that I personally wanted to see in there.

Unfortunately not messing with it a little has some pretty major ramifications on the game. I know it's weird that you can mess with it in replay's but not for the camera's.

I actually like the newspapers. I just wish they were more immersive, covering cy young race, fan feedback to bad trades, GM discussions, etc. But I wish it weren't leaving

i love the idea of newspapers if done right.
i mean is there anything more newspapery in sports then baseball?

my beef is its just too bare and bland.
in madden 07 each team had a newspaper, all REAL papers by the way.
if they had that, it would be all good.
I'd pour a bowl of cereal and read my in game article and box score.

I tell you what folks, if you want to see a more realistic score bug, turn your television on in April to your home team's broadcast and watch the game. It has the most realism you'll ever see in baseball.

i dont think its a major complaint Perfect, its just the thing that happens to be being discussed.
not everything falls on one side.
some will fall to the other side.
thats what we have here.

they have that option in franchise as it stands now, with the fake ads, but u just wont actually see those in the stadium, for some reason or another, which to me defeats the purpose.

for example, you might ssome trike a deal with pest control company to be displayed along the right field wall, but you wont see it appear there.

But it would be cool to see it.
