You forget... I won't be at the office when the "OMG ITS COMPLETELY BROKEN!!! THIS SINGLE FEATURE RENDERS ALL PS3 GAMES UNPLAYABLE! REFUND!!!!" happens. I'll still be sad that people hate me (because when you don't like something we can't be friends) but ill be safely tucked away in FL.

This is what benefits you. The bigger fans seem to be compelled to overanalyze and break down the game unnecessarily for whatever reason, to the point where things aren't as "broken" as they claim.

Am I missing anything with this pulse-pitching mechanic? It seems like another way to have meter pitching and calling it a "new" pitching system.

Unlike most here, I'm not that impressed by any of the news yet. I thought the focus this year was on franchise? Where are all those fixes (yes, I know they haven't announced everything yet)? Free agency, trade logic, having more options, create a team, etc.

The new ball physics are the only thing interesting so far. And we don't even know much about that.

Also, new commentary ffs. GET SOME EMOTION INTO THE COMMENTARY. Not "and it's a homerun..."

If you don't want to pay for a $60 roster update, don't, but why hope for new innovations when these types of wholesale changes is what screws up games for years to come, with bugs and glitches, and takes disk space from bread and butter formats like Franchise... Developers need to stop worrying about what the critics say... Bottom line, people want to play online, and if you want to play online, you will buy the game... If you don't want to play online, stick to last years version or the year before last, but don't hope for changes when we all should know from experience, change in the video game industry= 2-3 years of failures until it is right again..."

First of all, I am NOT an online player. I never have been. All I've wanted is a realistic game of baseball that's full of life, and to this day I've seen one or the other. Either the graphics look really nice, the animations are crisp and the commentators rock, or the game is realistic but so ugly that it must be OOTP.

Seriously, just because someone doesn't like YOUR style of play does not mean, at all, that he or she isn't a serious sports gamer.

I'm guessing you know nothing about running a business, because my many years of consumer experience tell me that it's the companies that DON'T listen to the critics, that fail. You either sell what the customer wants, or go out of business.

Do you know why SCEA never "breaks" something just to have a new back-of-the-box feature? Because they have built a product that sells because of the front of the box. The created a good game, subtracted a few things, tweaked a few more, added some things that the community wanted (crazy!) and generally rolled with their developed game until the conversation now revolves around perfection and true sim as opposed to legacy issues and a lack of detail.

MOM players are supposedly only a handfull so I don't think 2k will be welcoming lots people from the Show.

I think people have tried both products. I think people has given their money when both games drop. You will do that if you are baseball fan. Both games are baseball and different as h##l.

I personally bought MLB 2K two or three years ago over the Show. I quickly traded it in because I had opened it. I will never buy, download or put a MLB 2k game in my PS3....
