It's a matter of personal preference, but I always like to discover bands I've never heard of along with putting stuff I'm more familiar with.
    This to the T.

I end up keeping one to two songs from the soundtrack in my mix every year.

Forget my last post SCEA, just listened to a few of them and I must say.. you guys have freaking great taste in music. Every single year you guys have a song or 2 that I will be listening to until the next game. Can't wait to listen to them in the game with my Sony Stereo Wireless Headset, the song I'm enjoying the most is Hooray for earth - no love
Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.

First discovered the Black Keys 6 years ago on MLB 06 the Show (Ten AM Automatic remains my favorite song by them). Good to see them back on the game.

Gold on the Ceiling is a great track. One of their best.

I've never heard of most song that are released in mlb games, so I always try to listen to all of them before the games released and decide if I like any or not. Last year I got about 5 or so songs from MLB 11s soundtrack that I liked and used in the game. Hopefully there'll be a good amount in this years soundtrack that I like too.

Has anyone been able to find "Zed and Two Naughts by The Mars Volta" anywhere?

It's going to be on their new album that is supposedly set to release on March 27th. A bunch of us over at the Mars Volta forum are trying to find out as much info as we can because for whatever reason, their label Warner Bros doesnt seem too interested in promotion ATM.

Could someone from OS please get a preview of this new Mars Volta track? It would get a TON of hits.

What a waste of time, money and resources. Another year of songs a majority of people never heard of.

Sweet Lord of Mercy, these are bands that are trying to get some exposure. They aren't the big names that dip too deep into the wallet for SCEA. Not really "a waste of time, money and resources."

Actually quite the contrary! They stick to artists under the Sony music label for most if not all the songs which results in a great savings to them when incorporating the music. If they went the route of incorporating all "A" list talent and went out the Sony label then you are right it would be a huge waste of money. Music needs to be incorporated into the game to some extent plus with the ability to add your own flavor to the game it really is not a big deal. Also, it is not like they have 50 people working on the game looking for music, its very minute.

I'm just so glad that you put quotation marks around the word "A". Truer words have never been spoken.

However, there has not been a weirder song on any of these games than Passion Pit - Little Secrets.

I completely agree. Hearing a song for the first time is something I have no interest in, and has certainly never happened to me before. It's not like I hear new music anywhere else. Even the radio never plays new music. It only plays the same songs that were already instilled in my brain when I was born (because that's possible). I have never in my life heard a song for the first time, and am appalled at the idea of starting now. New is always bad. Always.

                          By the way:

I don't need to hear new music from a video baseball game. Plus I never said I didn't listen, if I didn't listen how would I know they were garbage? To me putting this kind of music in a baseball game is pointless, just like having a certain player on the cover, I could care less who's on the cover, I don't turn the game on and look at the cover, and I don't buy a video baseball game to hear new music.

If you don't care then why bother wasting time posting about it. Seems like a lot of effort for something so small. All sports games have music in it.

                              Also it's couldn't care less.
