A) Everything we do know screams "Ultimate Team"-like mode. I could be wrong, but highly doubtful as most sports games have been adding micro-transaction features (which The Show already does with boost points).

B) Modes like this are meant to have users spending a few bucks here and there for packs. In FIFA, a bronze pack is $0.50 while a gold pack is $3.00. Of course, gold packs contain better players for your team. Hence, if the mode is what most think it will be, SCEA will continue bringing in money throughout the game's life cycle. A buck here and there can add up quickly and requires zero effort on the developer's part once the game is released.

C) It was in development for four years because it was being prototyped and tested. Stuff that is prototyped isn't typically at the forefront of a development cycle. Basically, a mode in development doesn't make money, which is why the focus wasn't all there. Once the mode starts bringing in revenue (see B), it will quickly move up in importance because face it, companies want to make more money.

D) Speculation is fun though.

Speculation is fine. Whining about something before you know any details is asinine at best.

Does anybody know when SCEA will release their official Fact Sheet? I'm getting really annoyed with these people complaining about how it isn't new and how they hate all kinds of these modes. I mean, really? It's an Amazon, 2 sentence description. Atleast wait for the Official Fact Sheet to come out before making your final decision.

Some of the posts in this thread are beyond ridiculous. I feel like the only thing missing is the words "comeback code" in the thread title.

There is nothing to complain about, because you don't know anything. There is nothing to evaluate, because you haven't seen its value.

I'm not trying to play moderator or anything like that, I'm posting this because I'm legitimately disappointed and disturbed by some of the posts in this thread. Not only are all these baseless comments off-topic, but quite frankly, they are disrespectful and childish. This topic is for speculating about the mode itself. Show some decency, and stick to that. If you prefer to blatantly insult something you've neither tried, nor researched, then updating your Facebook status is probably the more appropriate action.

Speculation is fine. Whining about something before you know any details is asinine at best.

Not quite sure where I was whining or complaining...in fact, I never said adding the mode was dumb or that I wouldn't play it (as I probably will). I was merely speculating on limited information with a sarcastic comment.

The basic concept looks like Ultimate Team; however, there is probably something deeper that will separate it from EA's UT. For that, we'll just have to wait and see. My thoughts are that the mode will somehow tie into something similar to last year's "Challenge of the Week" with prizes at regular intervals.

I, like most of everybody else here, have no clue what this mode is going to be or include yet. But I do know that SCEA puts out one hell of a game every year and I have yet to be disappointed with any game in this series. After playing the new Diamond Dynasty, if it happens to be something I dont enjoy or really care for, I know I got a whole plethora of other game modes that will keep me loving this game for a long time.

Anybody here has the right to speculate and be pessimistic about this upcoming mode. I dont really understand the negativity since we havent gotten the "Official" details on this from Ramone. But given the fact that SCEA has been working on this mode for years just to get it right, I have a feeling that a majority of the naysayers here are gonna be eating their words once the game comes out. And if they dont like it, they will just be stuck with the measly mess of a game known as MLB 12 The Show! (drip, drip, drop, there goes some sarcasm) :wink:

A few points ...

1) It seems somewhat irresponsible for this thread to be titled "Some MLB 12 The Show Diamond Dynasty Details Have Arrived" and for it to be in red text, when the game's developer has come on here and said it is FALSE information. After all, most people won't bother reading the whole thread, they will see the first post, read the link, take it for fact and begin to perpetuate a lot of the garbage you see in this thread.

2) It seems silly of SCEA to NOT reveal the basline of this mode and what it entails now, especially since there is so much misinformation floating around. I know it has to do with marketing and whatnot, but the hardcores who post here could easily be let in the know and it still wouldn't have any significant impact on the mode's overall PR launch/push whenever the company decides to do so.

3) People complaining about this mode (whatever it is) need to step back and put a little faith in the developers. Just because it isn't a mode you are personally interested in, it's no reason to slag those who might be, or the company who put the mode together. Needless to say, there is NOTHING wrong with a company branching out and creating new game modes and certainly we owe SCEA the benefit of the doubt that they wouldn't be embarking on something that won't be enjoyable for a lot of people. Get off your high horse, everyone.

What people have to understand is some guys here (me too) have a litlle/no interest in other mode than franchise.
And these guys and I are disappointed that SCEA has put time in developping other mode, version (DD, VITA) than the one previously concerned = franchise mode.
And thus we have to wait another year for having a revamped franchise mode.

I think they are just doing some serious Marketing/PR blue balling ploy and its getting old guys. After seeing them act like this, glad I didnt get MLB 11 and considering skipping this one now too.
