Yeah two years ago there was no demo, but the full retail version was released to Best Buy kiosks a few weeks before release, which was pretty cool, even though it made a few of us stalk Best Buy's video game displays like crackheads

        I am hardcore.

And I care not for a demo at all.

          Thanks for answering
          Just play MLB11

And I hate the internet bandwidth. It makes everything useless. What's the point of offering on demand services online and other things like netflix when they'll use up your limit quickly. Just watching a 480p 10 min video on youtube is like around 100mb. I can only average 2gb a day if I want to stay under my limit, so 100mb on a single video is a big amount. Hate to imagine how much a single netflix tv show takes up on someones limit

Demo is definatley not for the hardcore, especially how fast it is for a veteran of the series to pick out all the problems when really its just because its an old build...
I want it all, and will have it all on March 6th thanks

I didn't say they were MADE for the hardcore gamers, or marketed to us. They already have our $60 each year. I said it's ANNOYING for us hardcore gamers because we are itching for a taste of the game. It's the reason we check this site multiple times a day.

If I am on the fence about a game, I don't count down the days until a potential demo comes out, I just check the PS store once a week to see if it was added, and when it does, get the demo. If they make the demo after the release date for a game I am on the fence about, it doesn't bother me, I was not getting it the day it came out regardless.

But us hardcore gamers get very antsy if no demo comes out and the game is going to be released, hell, we even start threads to find places who are selling within a day or two of the street date.

It's not like that in the States.. at least not where I live. When I was up in Canada for 2 years, I experienced what you're talkin' about and I didn't like it.

I will use the demo to try out the new pulse pitching and new zone analog hitting.

Where do people still have bandwitdth limits? I mean it's 2012!

To stay on the subject, a
demo would be nice to get an early taste of the new presentation elements and the new ball physics but knowing it's an early built I'd rather wait for the retail version.

It's not where people live its who they get their internet through. I know a company like Comcast has a internet cap.

                        Re: MLB 12 Demo

A demo can be just as useful for a hardcore player as it can a casual first timer. It's the only way we can tell if the changes they've made warrant a purchase or not.

Re: MLB 12 The Show Demo Release Date?

I almost always play demo's for any games that I would like to try out and potentially buy. If not for the MLB The Show Demo years back I wouldn't have purchased the game at all.

This year I'm just as excited to try a demo for 2k as I am The Show. At this point I'm curious as to what they have added to make their game more similar to The Show and vice versa. The analog zone hitting might be very similar to 2k... hopefully a demo can answer that question for me early. I can read feedback on this site but reading someone elses opinion and doing it myself are two different things.

Are demos really representative of the final product though?(IDK.....that's why I'm posing this question)
I know they were still tweaking some VERY important things at the community event. I'm not sure if the demo build was already out for approval or not at that point.

Last year's demo came out just shy of two weeks prior to release date, on February 21. This year, the game will be released about a week later, so I'd guess late February.

                                Good question.

Are movie trailers really representative of their final product? I can't keep count of how many films I've seen based on their trailer. Sometimes I've been disappointed sometimes satisfied.

Either way I'm still looking forward to seeing the new Batman film.
