I just hope Leyland(who has a history of making poor decisions) doesn't put Cabby at DH and keep Brandon CRINGE at 3rd

So, Prince is going to have the Tigers cap on and not the generic FA MLB 12 Show hat on in the game, right?

Cabrera is telling people he is moving to 3rd. Once again he takes Inge's job. Hooray!

I am amazed by the blatant homerism here in regards to Cabrera moving to 3rd. Every one of you honestly think he will be anything more than terrible at the hot corner? He probably plays a few games at 3rd, but there is no way he plays there every day with Fielder at 1st and Victor at DH in 2013. VMart has almost certainly played his last game for the Tigers as Cabrera and Fielder split the 1B/DH duties for the foreseeable future.

Every single report has the tigers moving Cabrera to third, it's not as if the fans here made the idea up....no idea if it'll work out or not but they have all of spring training to see.

Sadly I'll be using the Tigers some point in my 2012 season of MLB 12 The Show just hope The Prince doesn't kill my Yankees, I'm worried about Pujols enough as it is
Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.

You must not realize how much people dislike Brandon Inge, lol.

I'm sure they'll be one of the more popular teams now.
As a Tigers fan, I'm always eager for the season to begin, but now I'm not sure I'll make it.
I just hope Prince and Cabrera can deliver as the most potent one-two punch in the AL.
NL hitters have a history of struggling coming to our league. I hope Prince can adapt.

                        Not this guy!

Even as a huge Inge slappy, even I can see the potential of moving Miggy to 3rd - warts and all.
His stick will more than make-up for all the guffaw's he has on the corner.

Not sure about that. Last year's ''cutoff'' date was January 15th. All free agents not signed before that date wore FA hats. Hopefully, the date has been pushed back this year. As of today (Jan 25), there are still 78 Major League free agents unsigned.

I understand they are saying he will move to third, I just don't see how he could be successful there. He hasn't played the position since 2008, when after 14 games he already had 5 errors and was moved to 1B. Since, he has gained more than a few pounds and lost any quickness he had previously.

How well did the move back to third go for Youk last year, and he was a solid fielder to begin with. The injury risk makes it not worth the chance in my eyes.

Cabrera wasn't horrible at 3B early in his career with Florida (he had a -4 UZR for two full years there). That was a long time and pounds ago so I'm certainly concerned over the defense for 2012 at 3B. I'm sure he will play some DH and 1B this year as well. But when he was traded to Detroit he was traded as a 3B so I'm hopeful he won't be awful. His hands are good and he has the arm. His range won't be great and with Peralta next to him there could be a lot of balls that sneak through the infield. Miggy has always sucked tracking balls down in deep foul territory but that's an issue at 1B as well.

Either way it's a great move for this year. If Miggy's defense is atrocious then he may play a lot of DH this year or share it with Prince. Next year would end up bringing a trade and I would guess Cabrera would go before V-Mart. Miggy won't want to just play DH and he's signed to a nice deal (just under $20 mil) through 2015. A co-worker was even speculating a trade for Hanley Ramirez. The Tigers will worry about that later though.
