My assumptions aren't baseless. It's based on other things the development team has said about patches and the game. They've already said they can't patch anything to do with the uniforms, which means more than likely that they can't change anything that messes with the core code of the game until they release the next version.

Expanded playoffs have been rumored, they have not been confirmed. Beings that they are an official game of Baseball, they have the obligation to portray the real league as much as possible when the game ships. They can't just make up stuff willy-nilly.

No one is expecting this, so I am not sure why you are addressing it. The discussion is whether it's possible to do this via. game patch. I'll await developer input.

Enjoy the wait. If you look at the evidence though, the odds are not in favor of them patching this into the game, especially since it deals with the core part of a core feature.
