Waiting for Ps Vita to come in my country. Will buy it the same day it releases here. With such processor and Gpu, its gonna be a completely great gaming experience without unfollowing itself. Also, MLB 12 on PsVita looks awesome.

I would have preferred the option of maintaining the full presentation/replay/cut scene experience on the Vita. Is it confirmed that none of this is available - including any automatic replays after a "great" play, etc?

Re: MLB 12 The Show Video - More PS Vita Gameplay

I have a quick question as I am really struggling with whether to get a Vita or not. What would be a major reason to get a 3G/Wifi as opposed to just a Wifi version? When you save on the Vita, not every save is to the cloud right? I can transfer from the PS3 to the Vita at home with Wifi, save from the cloud to the Vita at home with Wifi, and then play while I am away. The when I get home I can transsfer from the Vita to the PS3. Ic that correct?? I don't need to be hooked to the internet everytime I save on the Vita do I?

Also, IIRC roster vault and sliders are available to download on the VIta, correct?

What you see on the video is what you get. Based on the amount of responses for those wanting a full presentation game for the vita, the developers may have just assumed(IMO incorrectly) that the show gamers would have wanted a quick on the go game. Again this was not about power as the vita was capable of broadcast presentation. This is an interesting decision because the psp version bacause you did have replays and it was closer to full version. Russell did say that full presentation will likely not be in 13' version so I guess we have got to just accept it. If you have played ps3 fast version you will agree that at least the vita version is more balanced.

I'm still doing research on this and sharing what I have gathered so far. Please correct me someone if I'm wrong.

It's a matter of preference and your usage. I don't need access to the network all the time and Vita with 3G won't be available in where I live, so I'm going with WiFi.

You might need 3G if you will be using some application where universal access to the network is essential/useful, but if you are a mostly offline guy I don't see the value (not to mention you need subscription which costs more $$ monthly). I have a Kindle with 3G and that's been useful when I'm shopping in an offline bookstore without WiFi and want to check Amazon reviews and stuff (something local bookstore despise me of I suppose), but it's still not an absolutely essential feature for me.

I believe that's how it works. You can transfer between Vita/PS3 via WiFi and cloud (one save file per mode), and you can also save locally (as many saves as you like) on Vita/PS3 without being on network.

Also, IIRC roster vault and sliders are available to download on the VIta, correct?
            Yes.

I sure hope there will be an option to use other presentation modes in future, and if there's a big enough community demand, the devs may consider it some time in future.

This is something I don't buy from marketing departement. If it would have been technically possible to do a full port of all features ( with some adapted I agree), they would have jumped on that opportunity. But they have technical hurdles, and I perfectly understand that. I don't have any problem with that, I'm sure they did a great job. Where I have a problem is since they're about to launch it in NA with in mind that they have a portable PS3, they will never admit that they dropped some features because of the hardware limitation. They're not that crazy. It's a marketing strategy alignement, I'm sure SCEA PR team have nothing to do with it.

My only concern with Vita versus MLB is: is the gap will be bigger next year as they will add more and more features on the PS3 ?

For sure I won't know until next year. So I am questionning myself now, should I take the risk and buy one or not. It's legit I think to not buy right away everything a marketing department is telling you, whatever the product is.

The dev team had a plan in mind, in regards to what handheld gamers do and want when playing on a handheld device. They don't want to sit there for 1 1/2 hours with it to play one game, which is the "complaint" from people playing on PS3's...even with fast play on.
They specifically went this route for the game.
I can't believe there are conspiracy theories already popping up about the Vita.
I think it's legit to say....you guys are a little nuts.

Isn't the PS3 fast play option quicker than Vita's fast play system?

There is no way the vita version would be quicker then the ps3 mlb 11' version of fastplay. That version did not have the intros or the batter walkup stat displays, which the vita has. Start a fastplay in 11' and compare to video. It is clear that the game will be a little longer unless you bypass the cutscreens.

I just would have preferred the option to have the full presentation and "x" through it or opt for fast play if I want to skip them.
                          Just my preference.
